Lovely place to stay in the centre of the harbour town. Breakfast very nice, not a full English more continental/Greek. Very clean and pleasant staff. Pool in very small and only two sun loungers, but plenty of chairs in the shade. Pool bar opens at 5 -10pm. Very quiet but most people go out. Very close to sea and harbour, a few minutes walk. Not a typical tourist area but more mini city break meets the seaside. Some noise at night from nearby bars but the aircon covers most of it. Peaceful and restful.

We stayed in Heliotrope for two nights in mid-November, everything was excellent, the room was clean, very comfortable for three people and just like in the pictures. With two TVs, with kitchens and in the center, near the shops and the shopping street, but the main thing was serving his people, their good mood and their willingness. We met Maria in the reception that helped us and explained everything with details about the city and the island from the very first moment. The location can’t be beat, especially if you are arriving or leaving by ferry. The hotel, however, is very, very tired. As other reviewers have mentioned, the carpet in common areas is in sore need of replacing, and the room fittings have not been touched in decades. Similarly, the tiny bathroom was lacking even a shower curtain for the shower and was very basic indeed. A bit of a spruce up would go a long way. For the price, there are better options a bit further away from the port and much, much better options in other parts of the island.
