It is situated in the middle of the town of Muar. The halls are surprisingly big & the room is pleasantly VERY spacious! The comfortable spaciousness of the room would be ideal for a large family esp with small kids. In addition, it has a bath tub!!! That can keep the kids occupied & happy! It can also be heavenly after a long day. The water pressure is also a relief to massage any fatigue away. The bed and pillows are very comfortable (to me) & I had a good night’s sleep. It is very convenient because it is connected to a shopping mall which has a supermarket, fast food chains (Texas Chicken, McDonald’s & Sushi King), Coffee Bean! Large drug stores (Watson & Guardian)And even book stores (Popular & Tanjong Mas) if you forgot to bring a book incase you want a day/night-in instead. My son forgot to pack his toothbrush and hence we just went next door to buy him one. A convenient store (7-Eleven) and clinics are just a short walking distance away. Local cuisine restaurants are also a short walking distance away hence the convenience. On the downside though, Since the mall is beside the hotel, they share the same basement parking. You have to use the staircase to go to the hotel or be Very Patient to wait for the ONE 4 people lift to the ground floor of the mall, then turn left to the entrance of the mall to proceed to the hotel next door. The lobby is also not your typical hotel lobby as well. Upon entering through the glass double door (which shares with a cafe & restaurant so don’t be confused) you will come upon a concierge table (when I arrived no one was present though), there are two lifts, so you need to go to the FIRST floor to the receptionist counter (hotel lobby). I have to warn you earlier, its not a typical proper hotel lobby though, it shares the same area with the hotel cafe😄, so don’t be too shocked. Fortunately, The staff is very friendly and helpful making the checking-in process pleasant. It seems to be quite an old hotel, hence do not expect it to be immaculate and in perfect condition. Depending on where your room is at, do not expect a beautiful scenery of the town (depends on what your definition of ‘beautiful’ is though). Carpet seems to be quite old. You may face some issues with the toilet flush; got me worried about it in the beginning until I got the hang of it. When I entered my room, the bed was not neat and properly made which caused me to raise my eyebrows. Found the note and pencil at the bedside table, probably used by the previous guest. Hence I dare say the house-keeping should be improved or properly trained. There is a limited number of socket plugs, only 3; one at the coffee table, 2 at the desk but even those are supposedly used for the desk and floor lamps. None at the bedside table. Hence, you need to bring your own extension cable or multiple socket plug perhaps. Not really liking the bedside lights as you need to quite struggle to switch it on while lying down on the bed when you wake up in the middle

I came with my family, we take 5 rooms 1 Deluxe family room for me my wife and two kids, 1 Superior family room for my Sister with her family, 2 Deluxe double rooms for my daughter and their husband, around noon the hotel staff call us asking if we are coming, we have paid in full, for sure we are coming, he should ask what time are you coming, that's is the correct question, its seems like if we unable to come they can resale the room again (double selling). it is during a peak time. I told them that we already there in the area and ask them what time can we check-in, he said after 3pm whereby the standard check-in time is after 2pm, I assume maybe they are busy with back to back situation so we came after 5pm just to give them time to makeup the room. Upon check-in, one of the room are not ready at all, we have to call reception to makeup the room, the housekeeping came and make-up the room immediately. We end up having 4 rooms in 1st floor and 1 room on the 2nd floor, there are no elevator in this hotel only staircase, we asking if we could change the room on the 2nd floor to 1st floor as I have bad knee problem and my wife have asthmatic, but the reception staff are very rude telling my son ” you have strong shape body you can carry them up”. this how you reply with your customer.. ridiculous right.. I was also hotelier before, I understand the situation when hotel are fully booked, but they have to choose word wisely not to make the situation worse. since we just stay for a night, I just change my room with my new wed daughters. The room need deep cleaning, most of the toilet tiles are moldy, edges of toilet bowl are dirty.

This is my first visit to Muar and I had chosen to stay at MUO Resort. I am glad I had made the right choice as it met my stay expectations. I had boarded a coach from Singapore to Muar, whereby I had alighted at Terminal Bentayan Muar. The bus terminal is 2.1km from the resort, which is situated at the fringe of the town centre. After alighting, I headed for lunch nearby, followed by a 20 mins walk to the accommodation. As the resort is nestled inside and not very visible, you would need to look out for its signage at the main road. It is situated between Bei Boutique Hotel and Cok Cai Yan Vegetarian Restaurant. So, keep a lookout for these two places and you will be able to find the property. Upon entering the site, I could not locate the reception. I walked to the back of the compound and enquired with the restaurant staff, only to find out that it is located beside Zuzu Coffee. Opened in 2018, MUO Resort is a 29-room property that offers an interesting theme, whereby the rooms are located in a farm house setting. At the back is a mini zoo compound with animals like goats, sheep, deer, rabbits and cats. There is also a large garden that is ideal for the hosting of events. I had booked the Business Suite (Room No. 205) for my one night stay here. The room is spacious at 28 square metres, which comprised of a living room and bedroom. The rubberwood furnishings supplied by a Muar company, Natural Signature, provided an unique and interesting theme to the room. There are two television units, one in the living room and the other in the bedroom. Besides local channels, there are Cable TV channels like AXN and Astro SuperSport. If you are feeling bored, log in to the bedroom’s SMART TV and be entertained with YouTube and Spotify. The Wi-Fi works well during my stay here. The two air-conditioning units did their job of cooling the room, despite the warm weather. The bathroom has a comfortable size and offers a bathtub, hand held shower and rain shower. The shower pressure is good. However, as there is no partition, the shower water will wet the floor after each bath. In the room, you can find amenities such as bath towels, shower gel, shampoo and hair dryer. Unfortunately, there are no dental kit, mini fridge and electronic safe. A kettle is provided which you can make coffee and fruit tea during your stay here. The resort has two food and beverage outlets namely, Pak Cik Kopitiam (Opens 8am - 2pm) and Zuzu Coffee (Opens 11am - 8pm). Whilst I did not have breakfast there, I headed out to a coffeeshop called Heng Mui, located just 50m away. This is a popular coffeeshop which was frequented by the Sultan of Johor. I had a hearty breakfast which comprised of toast, half-boiled eggs, Nasi Lemak and coffee. Next to this coffeeshop is a 24hrs 7-Eleven store. Come night, a Ramly Burger stall known as Fendy Fast Food operates beside this convenience store. I bought a burger there for supper during my stay there. The resort is a 15 mins (1.1km) walk
Experience an abundance of unparalleled facilities and features at BEI Boutique Hotel. Visitors can take advantage of the accessible parking options directly at the hotel. The hotel maintains a completely smoke-free zone, providing a breathable atmosphere.

Overall good hotel, friendly staff, clean lobby and neat room except the bathroom. Poor maintenance in the bathroom, when I turned on the sink water tap water flowing down at the bottom makes the floor wet. The shower area heater sign Cold & Hot are not visible, the hair shampoo very diluted (did they mix it with water?). My next visit I'll make sure I bring my own hair shampoo.

GGuest UserI was on a 3 days trip here in Muar, which I had stayed a night each at MUO Resort and MUO Boutique Hotel. Both properties are managed by the same company. To compare, Muo Boutique Hotel is very much town-centric. On the other hand, Muo Resort is more rustic and geared towards the outdoors with a farm house setting (Read my other review on MUO Resort). MUO Boutique Hotel is refurbished from an old shophouse building. Whilst the facade is conserved, its interior is overhauled and decorated into a contemporary space outfitted in retro décor, with nods to the town’s heritage and creative community. At the lobby and hotel corridors, you will notice an assortment of retro paraphernalia — Old TV sets, radios and antique lamps, which is a throwback to the nostalgic years. Opened in 2017, the 24-room hotel offers rooms that are located from the first to the third level (British setting). I had booked a Deluxe Twin Room (No. 204) and was accommodated on the second level. The room offers a view of the Muar River, though obstructed by buildings and trees. While it also faces the road, traffic noise is kept to a minimum with its double pane windows. Although the room measures 15 square metres, it offers all the comfort of the stay. The bathroom is of acceptable size, though there is no partition at the showering area. This resulted in the bathroom floor being wet after each shower. Fortunately it dries up rather quickly. Part of the bathroom is covered with frosted glass, but privacy is ensured. The showering experience is enhanced with a rain shower fitting. The shower pressure is good and the bath towel is both thick and fluffy. Entertainment is limited to local channels and a couple of Cable TV channels such as Aljazzera, CCTV4, Astro Supersport. The Wi-Fi connectivity in the room is good. The amenities in the room include shower gel, shampoo and hair dryer. There are no dental kit, mini fridge and electronic safe. A kettle is provided to make fruit tea, a nice Muar beverage choice offered by the hotel. Although there is no food and beverage outlet in the hotel, you can find plenty of eateries serving local food that are within walking distance. There are also a 7-Eleven and foreign exchange service nearby. Overall, MUO Boutique Hotel is a good accommodation choice in Muar. Its strategic location makes it convenient for travellers who want to stay near the bus terminal (Bentayan Muar Terminal), the various attraction sites and popular food spots. As a guide, these are the walking distances from the hotel to the following places: - Muar Street Art - 200m - Wetex Parade (Shopping mall) - 400m - Glutton Food Street - 650m - Bentayan Muar Terminal - 750m - Muar Cultural Walk - 800m If you are searching for a nice looking Instagrammable hotel located in the town centre, look no further.

GGuest User1st impression when i arrived is the view of the surrounding which is nice and instagrammable worthy. Check in was smooth. Next to hotel there are japanese restaurant (but not halal) and another restaurant that provide local & western cuisine. Room and bathroom are spacious. Amenities? U can get everything from dryer, tea n coffee, iron and etc. Perhaps hotel can provide extra pillow.
Nnnchinthe hotel has 2 wings, the main 3 storey building with your regular rooms with lift access, and the other wing made up of stacked containers. I stayed in the 3rd of the main building & attended a training at the container wing in its meeting room big enough to seat 40 pax classroom style. The training room is at the 2nd floor accessible only by stairs which is quite an inconvenience especially where you have huge baggage to lug on. The down side is that this place do NOT have a dining place and therefore no breakfast provided. My room is clean and come with toiletries, there's hot/cold water dispensers at the lift landing on every floor, very efficient. However, it can be noisy at night especially from the traffic & some bar/pub nearby, which I cannot determine the source of the loud music. There's this place with it's own gated parking lot about 200m from this hotel that house another budget hotel & some restaurants/cafes, therefore food/drinks is not an issue.
AAnonymous UserI like that the front desk operates 24h because it eases long distance travellers to check-in without much hassle since most hotels I went to before don't accept midnight check in. So far the hotel was good. They have allocated parking for cars and motorcycles as well as lift. The room was good but the amenities in terms of the toiletries are a bit meh to me. I like the location as it is easy to access.
MMWZSIngaporeExcellent reception service which was prompt and clear with a ready smile from all staff! Keep it up! Owners of Tropicana, your staff are your frontline greatest assets! Thoughtful touch of complimentary breakfast at Paparich, a life-saver especially on rainy mornings. Miss the welcome drink vouchers though. No instant drinks sachets in room either. The chamber cleaning crew, bed linen and towels need refreshing. Wish the rooms smelt as good as the reception area! Be warned of stairs to climb if travelling with wheeled lagguage or elderlies.

XXin-FangThe hotel is strategically located, facing the Muar River. The famous New Eastern Restaurant (Hainanese chicken chop) is just around the corner. Basement carpark is available (only 1 lane for enter and exit). A RM50 room deposit is required during check-in. One must bring along the TV and air-conditioner remote controllers together with the deposit receipt during check-out to get his/her deposit fully refundable. The reception counter is located on the first floor of the building. There is a small lift for the guests to go up their rooms. This lift is situated on the ground floor of the building. The guests are required to use their room card to gain access to their room. This is an added security feature. Or else anyone can go up to higher floors in view of the location of the lift. We booked a room for three adults (Triple Room). However, the slippers, bottled water and toothbrush & toothpaste are only provided for 2 persons. The air-conditioned room is spacious. The bathroom is clean and big too. Our room is located on 4th floor. There is a total of 5 floors in the building. Iron and ironing board, and the hot/cold water dispenser are available on our floor. Overall, we had a good night stay in this hotel. We love its location and affordable price.
