"I originally planned to leave a 5-star review because the hotel itself has a very nice, cozy atmosphere. However, I ended up extremely disappointed due to something being stolen during housekeeping service.
I travel frequently and stay in hotels often, so I’m usually very careful. This time, I didn’t bring many valuables with me, so I didn’t lock my suitcase when I went out. I had bought a few items from a drugstore and left them in the room. When I came back, one of the three packages was missing. I assume they didn’t take everything to avoid suspicion.
I’m usually very cautious about housekeeping and potential loss of belongings, which is why I selected the “do not disturb / no cleaning” option. However, this hotel requires daily cleaning of the in-room hot spring bath. Since I booked a top-floor room with a private onsen, the front desk informed me that staff would still enter the room to clean it.
I never expected that even opened, low-value cosmetics would be taken. The missing items were worth over $60. While it’s not a huge amount, it still feels very upsetting.
The hotel itself is fine, but please be very careful with your belongings if you stay here. If you leave the room, make sure to take your valuables with you. The safe in the room is extremely small and cannot hold much.
Overall, this experience was very disappointing."

After booking, you can message him on WeChat or email him to let him know your estimated arrival time in Izu. 👌 He'll personally pick you up from the station, and if you want to visit other attractions, he'll also drive you if he's available, saving you travel time. The guesthouse itself is beautiful 👏🏻, with a strong artistic vibe thanks to all the decorations. The proprietress is very talented 👍, and every corner of the room is stunningly decorated. I also have to praise the owner's cooking! 👍 If you're craving Xi'an specialties, you can ask the owner to cook for you. You can order à la carte or choose a guesthouse meal package (a heads-up: there are no restaurants or supermarkets nearby) 😜. We booked breakfast and dinner (for breakfast, you can choose between Chinese or Western) ☺, and the owner's noodles are absolutely amazing 😋. If you want to try Xi'an noodles, you can ask the owner to cook them for you (he mentioned they mostly serve noodles for lunch) 👌. I usually don't have much of an appetite for breakfast, so the owner specially made me a big bowl of Qishan Saozi noodles 🍜. Oh my god 😋, the sour and spicy flavors immediately opened up my appetite! Thank you to the incredible owner for saving my Chinese stomach! 🙏 Oh, and in the evenings, the owner will also take you to nearby hot springs ♨. If you want to experience authentic local hot springs, you should definitely try it! ♨ The owners are very easygoing, and after two days, it felt like we were old friends. I'm already looking forward to my next trip to Izu 🙂 and another taste of the owner's amazing Saozi noodles! 🍜"

"I came to Izu last year and again this year. After considering many factors like value for money, location proximity, and convenience to Mount Omuro, Jogasaki Coast, and Izukyu Shimoda, I still chose this hotel. Although the hotel looks a bit old from the outside and is run by elderly people, they are very spirited, healthy, speak excellent English, and are very polite. The rooms are also exceptionally clean. I absolutely love this hotel and have recommended it to every friend I know who is traveling to Japan! I hope everyone will support their business; you definitely won't regret it!"

"A good, but not new, hotel. It boasts a huge golf course, and indeed, the vast majority of guests are golfers who come for a weekend getaway to play without venturing down the mountain.
If you have your own car, getting there is convenient. However, for exploring the region, the location isn't ideal; this hotel isn't really set up for that. You can, however, reach Ippeki Lake. I actually walked to the Komuroyama lift in 35 minutes through the camellia garden. From there, you can descend to Kawana Dolphin Beach, but the path isn't particularly convenient, and there are no direct buses. The closest bus stops to the hotel are in Yoshida, and from there, it's a 15-20 minute uphill walk along the road. You won't get lost, as there are plenty of signs. But it's not a straightforward or super easy route, especially if you have a lot of luggage.
The rooms are quite standard. They have all the essentials: a kettle with green tea, a fridge, a TV, and various shampoos and gels in the bathroom (yes, there's a bathtub in the room). You can even see Mount Fuji from the window.
The hotel itself has an interesting interior with cool details, such as an aesthetically pleasing lounge area before the dining room.
The breakfast is good. Everything is tasty and varied; it’s definitely a step up from a basic economy hotel. There are fruits, vegetables, drinks, omelets, rice... and various meat and fish dishes, which I don't really pay attention to since I rarely eat them, but they were there.
I didn't get to try the hot springs at the hotel, so I can't comment on them.
Since I had already done a lot of hiking in the mountains over a few days, I requested a transfer for check-out. I was the only passenger! It took 7 minutes to Kawana Station, and a train to Ito/Atami was leaving 10 minutes later.
Overall, it's an excellent hotel if you're not planning to spend a week traveling along the coast from here. For that purpose, it would be better to find something closer to the sea."

"A very satisfactory B&B. The navigation on Google Maps was correct. It was a B&B run by a couple. The owner, especially the lady boss, spoke good English and was very friendly. They even drove us to the supermarket to buy things at night and helped us to arrange for the next day's shopping. Communicate with the other hotel we stayed at, plan the itinerary, and drive us to our destination. It was a really great experience, which really reflected the friendliness, simplicity and patience of the locals. It is a B&B worth recommending. I will definitely choose this place again next time I go to Izu!"

"First of all, the view is good and the location is great. And the food was very delicious and I was very satisfied. Since the bath is a private bath, I thought it would be a little troublesome to have to aim for the timing of being vacant, but since the number of rooms is small, it was okay to wait there. The open-air bath was very comfortable. The feeling of the inn was also very good and it was a fun stay. However, since it is basically for two people, the three girls were a little different."

"For Dashishan and Cactus Zoo, the hotel is near Izu Plateau Station. It takes about 18 minutes to walk and there are more slopes. People along the way are also very quiet with cute flowers and plants. You can store your luggage for free on the day of check-in. Going to Dashishan or taking the bus honestly, watching the walk is only 40 minutes, but there will be private roads along the way that are not allowed to pass, and the map walking navigation is still not very smart.
The room is Western style, there are tatami mats, the price is really super high. The room is much larger than expected. There is a toilet sink. You have to take two free private soups to take a bath. It is said that the private soup feels like a large bath in an ordinary hotel. It’s super cool to have a lock on the personal door.
In addition, there is a free drink machine coffee machine, very crazy sweet water."

This ryokan is truly a gem. It offers complimentary car parking, and there’s also a public bathroom available. The staff are very nice and sweet, making the stay feel warm and welcoming. I highly recommend trying their breakfast and dinner—the meals are delicious and thoughtfully prepared.
In the evening, guests can even enjoy complimentary ice cream, which is a lovely touch. Netflix is available for entertainment, and the facilities are very well maintained, giving excellent value for money. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to stay, and I will definitely go back again.

I had a fantastic experience at Forest Glaming! The staff, including Mr. Terada & the cool dude with long hair, were not only incredibly friendly but also made an effort to communicate with me in English and encouraged my attempts at speaking Japanese. Despite missing the shuttle bus, Mr. Terada kindly came to pick me up. The resort is a serene haven, offering tranquility and the cleanest toilets I've ever encountered. ✨Being tented near the shower and toilet facilities was an added bonus. 😮💨The food was outstanding, especially the aged domestic beef 🍖 BBQ. The only disappointment was not having the chance to share the wonderful dinner with the staff. I totally recommend Forest Glaming to anyone seeking a rejuvenating escape with exceptional service and facilities. The staff's warmth and willingness to engage in different languages truly enhanced my stay. Fantabulous!!! 😍🥰

Service: 1. The Japanese gentleman running the place is incredibly welcoming. Besides Japanese, he also speaks English and a little Chinese. 2. My Japanese is only N3 level, so the owner was very patient, speaking slowly to make sure I understood. 3. The hotel offers free pick-up and drop-off service from the station. Since there's only one convenience store and supermarket between Izu Kogen and Jōgasaki Coast, the owner also organizes trips for guests who need to buy daily necessities. 4. If you want to visit tourist spots, you can also tell the owner, and he'll help drive you if he's available. Environment: The room was very clean, and even on a cloudy day, there was no damp smell. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied.

• The dinner featured a sashimi bar with incredibly fresh ingredients, refilled endlessly. The hot food and BBQ were also excellent.
• Breakfast was equally diverse, offering both Japanese and Western options, all delicious. I was very satisfied with the meals on both days.
♨️ Public Bath
• The hot spring bath area is very spacious, with both indoor and outdoor baths, making for a very relaxing soak.
• A nice touch: The hair dryers are Refa! They have strong airflow and don't damage hair, which women will love.
🏨 Room
• I stayed alone in a large suite-style room. It was spacious with a separate living area, and excellent natural light, far exceeding the average Japanese standard.
🛎 Service & Facilities
• The front desk staff were friendly and efficient, and free coffee is available in the lobby.
• There's a large swimming pool and an on-demand massage/SPA area.

The hotel was great – very clean with excellent service. Parking was 500 yen per day, and you could come and go as you pleased. My girlfriend wasn't feeling well, so we asked for a late check-out, and they were accommodating. Since the hotel was full, they allowed us to check out half an hour later, which was really helpful. Overall, it's a very good hotel. Just be aware that if you're taking the Ito Line, trains only run every half hour, so missing one means a long wait.

It is locate in the hill, takes about 10min to drive up or down to the nearest 7 11. Check in was easy. Onsen facility is great. Perfect for a couple trip. Kitchen is great, we drove to supermarket that is like 20min away for some grocery to cook at home. Very relax area.

Beautiful onsen — our favorite stay in Japan with my family! The traditional breakfast was delicious with a very large selection of dishes. The rooms are gorgeous, quiet, and spacious — and everything was exceptionally clean. The cleaning crew truly does an amazing job.
The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, making us feel warmly welcomed. The location is excellent, just a short walk from the train station, and having a washer and dryer available for guests was a big plus.
Highly recommended — we would love to stay here again!

Izu One Club stood quietly in the mountains. The exterior had a Western-style feel, and the reception area was decorated with motorcycles and nostalgic figurines displayed in glass cases. It felt like a place overflowing with personal touches.
They meticulously checked out the entire building, including my room, which was a Japanese-style room just like the pictures I'd seen. It had the bare minimum – a TV, table, futon, kettle – a simple space, but somehow it evoked a sense of nostalgia.
The only thing I would mention is that, perhaps because of the time of year I stayed (late March) or because it's in the mountains, it was a little chilly. Personally, I didn't mind, but some people might need a jacket.
And then there's the bath. I didn't use the bathtub, but the shower was sufficient… however, perhaps because I took a shower in the morning, the water didn't heat up quickly… there was a stove in the changing area, which was nice and warm.
On my way out, I stopped by a large common room-like area with a spectacular view of the sea – it was beautiful. I thought it would have been even more beautiful if it had been sunnier (the photo was taken from the room in that space).
This time I stayed there urgently for a one-day business trip, but it was a pretty nice room, and I might stay there again if I have the chance. However, please note that a car is essential to get there. There are no convenience stores nearby either, so I recommend eating before you stay.

The structure seems to be a legacy of the bubble era. The luxurious layout allows you to move between the main building and each building via pedestrians.
It's reminiscent of the 5-star hotels of Phuket and Bali of the past. The all-inclusive plan also feels like good value.
Unfortunately, however, maintenance of the interior and exterior has not kept up, and various parts are badly deteriorated. The bathhouse is also made of good granite, so it should be polished properly. The exterior walls are so black that you want to use a Karcher cleaner. I wish it was a little cleaner.

The tent under the Dashi Mountain, the bathroom, bathroom and shower are not far from the outdoor area. There is also a barbecue shed outside the tent, which can be closed by pulling the windscreen. The hotel is at the foot of Dashi Mountain, and there is a convenience store for 3 kilometers. It is suitable for self-driving. We arrived late, took a taxi up the mountain and took a taxi down the mountain, which was very uneconomical.
It is recommended to travel by car after April.
