My husband and I had a highly unsatisfactory 6 day stay at this hotel. We booked and paid a premium price for a condo unit advertised as having A/C. Upon check-in the A/C did not work. Maintenance came up and fiddled with it, still didn’t work. The next day we were told that the issue was affecting the entire 2nd floor, but that the system would be repaired the next day. It was not. I went to the front desk and they offered to move us to a unit with functioning A/C, and they offered to comp our daily resort fee. So we packed up and waited to be moved to the new unit. Then got a call from the front desk that - guess what? - the A/C was out in the entire building. So we unpacked and waited for portable A/C units to be delivered. When I asked to speak to the manager, he was unavailable. We feel that we are due compensation for the miserable experience we had at this hotel. Beware of this hotel!

We stayed here for a weekend business meeting. The rooms are dated and in need of a renovation. The shower had walls that were peeling/bubbling near the ceiling. The towels were in need of replacing. Our room keys stopped working several times which was inconvenient. The front desk employees were friendly and willing to help, but it took 2 different visits from maintenance to get the keys to work. We just didn’t have the best experience, and, to top it off, we found a note on our windshield in the parking garage when we checked out. It made some derogatory comments about how we parked our car and actually said “learn how to park loser.” And it was signed “management.” Of course we can’t be sure who it was from, but there wasn’t an issue with how we were parked. They are tight spaces, but we were within the lines so we don’t know why they felt it necessary to leave that note. Overall, just a disappointing stay which is unfortunate because Crested Butte really is a beautiful place!

Location is perfect. 3 bedroom - very spacious and well laid out. Ski valet was convenient. Grocery store across the street! Overlooking courtyard - pretty but you are RIGHT over bar with nightly live (and loud) music. Hot tub unusable half the time Weird, loud knocking at all hours….couldn’t figure out what it was

I had to book this hotel because I conference I'm attending was hosted by this place. When I came to the checkout automatically I was turned off by the aloofness of the staff The front desk is quite bizarre when I ask them if water was in the room there was no direct answer but rather a way to dodge the question. Of course there was no water in the room not only that there was no microwave! Fast forward in the room one of the closets is locked which I thought was strange and suspicious when the safe didn't work and I had to get security to come to help I asked them about that and they said it's because the owners of the unit locked it so that gave me a tip off that this is not really a hotel but more of a condo which is rented out and it's being marketed as a hotel. In addition to this there is no room service If I wanted my room cleaned and serviced in any way I'd have to pay extra parking is also included if you park outside which is a 5-minute walk away and it's mostly occupied by the neighboring Lodge called the Grand Lodge and they give you a hard time if you park in it. I found the whole place a bit stifling and honestly I don't think I would stay here again I don't think this is an actual hotel but rather a co-op or HOA of some kind that is being branded as a hotel but not sacrificing anything on the price. The other kicker was one of the front desk agents, named Stephanie, called me to say that I had to move my car because of an upcoming storm. When I inquired about the storm she was very condescending and would not give me any information more information besides to say that I'm just calling to tell you to move your car. This is the kind of service you can expect at this place. Anyway because of the storm I left early because I didn't want to deal with getting stuck in this hell hole. This is a one-and-done for me

Oven is broken, windows don’t stay open (it’s 80 degrees with the thermostat all the way off in the winter), other appliances are also broken. Front desk doesn’t help. Carpet, bedding is dirty. Crazy. We paid $1,000 per night and this place is totally falling apart. Avoid this place, total rip off.

Have stayed at CBMR 2x before at Elevation and a private home. The 2 BR Lodge condo was fantastic in all respects - beautiful and comfortable condo with everything you needed; proximity to slopes; ski valet; underground parking; pool/hot tub; private shuttle service to downtown CB. What made this stay different was the staff. Everyone who works at the Lodge were incredibly nice and helpful. Special shout out to Dominic - who knows the slopes in and out and is a ski and mountain bike instructor/guide and recent grad of Western CO, and Sean - whose knowledge of CO and Alaska was so very interesting! Thank you for a fabulous Christmas. Will be back!

The lodging was great and the front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Management (Tyler), however, a completely different story. We were there on vacation when my wife was notified that her grandfather passed away unexpectedly so we had to leave a day early. We inquired with the front desk about a refund or even a credit since we enjoy visiting Crested Butte. She offered her condolences and said check with mgmt, but it shouldn’t be a problem. The mgr said we booked through a 3rd party and had to go through them. We checked with the 3rd party and, obviously, they have to get approval from mgmt where we stayed so, good job Tyler. You saved one nights worth of money for your company but lost a lot more in the long run because we will certainly be back multiple times to Crested Butte but will not be staying anywhere owned or affiliated with Mountaineer Lodge.

Firstly, people were nice here! My beef is with corporate and how they have designed this hotel. No ski lockers, what??? Who wants to wait for ski valet on a powder day? Not a single peg or hook in the units so where to hang all the wet ski clothes from the day? No mudroom so there was nowhere to remove and store ski boots. Bedrooms and bathrooms were unnecessarily supersized and living space was tiny, should be the other way around - as a big family it was hard to all hang out. Gym wasn't open until 7am, made it hard to workout and get back to room to feed and gear up the kids. No apres ski snacks offered. This is an on-mountain ski hotel but there was very little to suggest that they care what skiers want. There was no soul in this place and it just screamed of corporate maximizing profits to the detriment of the skier's experience.
