I recently stayed at the Ravens Cliff Hotel Lodge by Marston's Inns, and found it to be a clean and comfortable choice for accommodation. The rooms were well-maintained, providing a good night's rest in a peaceful setting. One of the perks I noticed was a discount offered in the restaurant for hotel residents, though it's important to mention that this is only available if you book directly through the hotel, which was a bit disappointing. During my dining experiences at the hotel restaurant, I felt that the staff could have been more welcoming and friendly. While the service was efficient, a warmer interaction would have greatly enhanced the overall experience. Nonetheless, the food quality was satisfactory. Overall, the Ravens Cliff Hotel Lodge offers a decent stay, especially if you're looking for a straightforward, no-frills accommodation with the convenience of an on-site restaurant. It's a suitable choice for travelers seeking basic comfort and cleanliness.

A really great hotel, comfy bed and everything you need in a room when working away from home. The food in the restaurant is fantastic and every member of staff we met went out of their way to help - they were polite and welcoming. Thoroughly recommend staying here - with excellent value too!

I work as a surgeon freelancing around Scotland and Europe. Quite easily the comfiest beds out of the usual that I stay in these include Holiday Express, Premier Inn and Travelodge. Ive been here about 4 times since September now staying for up to a month at a time. The staff couldn't be more helpful - from the juniors (Cat and Gaby) and the seniors (Alan and Lee) as standout regulars (I have omitted the other names as am post shift and suffering memory loss) I have had nothing but unstinting service and have no complaints about how im dealt with. Im not sure what the others are expecting as this is not a 4 star hotel but the food is good (especially steak) and comes in sizeable portion and Ive personally found the cleanliness of the rooms excellent. Ive tried to contact Marston's to say they should be praising their staff more but this falls on deaf ears. Without the good will of the staff this place would get poorer reviews. For those complaining about the price if you book a few weeks in advance you can get the price down to about 59 per night which for what you get is excellent. It's approx 10 mins drive from all main road arteries and opposite one of Scotlands largest sports clubs if you fancy a walk-in for a weights session.

Hotel was in quiet location and staff were excellent, nothing was a problem , noise from closing room doors was a small issue , had issues paying as they do not have chip and pin to pay for hotel room , although they have it for restaurant? .Staff member Alan was excellent with my issues paying bill with no chip and pin , very relaxed and out my mind at ease with issue of paying bill . In all an excellent stay .

Haven’t been here for over a year so as live nearby decided to go for lunch.Ordered starter of Mac cheese, fish and chips and veg chilli. As soon as food arrived you could just tell by appearance it wasn’t going to be good.mac cheese no flavour of cheese whats so ever and very dry so it was left.Chips nice but fish very greasy but at the same time very tough to cut threw so that was left.Veg chilli nice flavours but not a lot of chilli but plate overwhelmed with nachos, salsa and guacamole.Staff very friendly enough but foods went downhill since last visit so won’t return.Only other positive was had a 30% off voucher so didn’t pay full price for a lack lustre meal.

So very dissapointed in this hotel and pub. Our room had a very dirty stained carpet and walls were badly marked. Beds were ok but pillows were lumpy. Food We ate in the pub, we sat at 4 different tables but were unable to find a table that the surface was not sticky due to the table surface... varnish or lacquer ... breaking down. It took 45 mins for our food to arrive, fries were cold and burger buns were hard. Baked beans and chicken bites were cold. Dessert was unpleasant... sticky toffee pudding.. the sauce waxrither burnt or fermenting. There were no pizza available as th pizza oven had been turned off .. at 7pm on a Satuday night. Breakfast The coffee machine was broken and the toaster did not toast. Scottish breakfast was poor and everything fried tasted of dirty cooking oil. Would recommend or stay again.

After checking in went to room but corridors smelt of cigarettes, room was ok, went for breakfast greeting wasn't the best, had to ask for cutlery, was no milk for tea / coffee/cereal, had to ask, lots of empty cereal boxes from other people on the station, no bin to put them in, not the best.was not worth £119 for the night then extra for breakfast

The service was awful, checking in and restaurant service both the worst I have ever experienced. No breakfast at advertised times and access key continually not working to access room. Staff unhelpful and uninterested in addressing issues. Won't stay here again
