It definitely pays for itself. The main advantages are the atmosphere (especially for photos), cheapness and proximity to the beach. The included breakfast is quite modest, but you can order something extra for an additional fee - it will still be cheaper than most other hotels.

It is a train lodge. I got a single cabin with a single bed. The room is a tiny one. It is ok for 1 night. Toilet and bathrooms are shared.

Really pretty and nice place with an amazing beach view! The restaurants next to the hotel are really nice too, which hold free live band shows sometimes!

Ótima acomodação, situada na beira da praia, uma relíquia os itens do trem. Muito interessante e única.
Deixou a desejar apenas o café da manhã, pois a parte inclusa na diária não oferece muita, então temos que pagar a mais.

I booked because of the novelty of the train and as a shoestring traveller the single compartments are quite reasonably priced if you are looking for a private space but fine with shared bathrooms. Very clean, tons of staff on site all day. Train is quite old and therefore quite tired. Compartnents rock back and forth as people walk down the aisle to their rooms and like a train you can hear through to your neighbours (phone notifications buzzing etc). Included breakfast and coffee was not to my taste but saves you from walking the 15 minutes into town. No wifi in the rooms.

Schlafen im alten Zug, 10 m zum Strand, Blick vom Bett aufs mehr im Hintergrund Berge, mehr gibt’s glaub ich nichts zu sagen. Eigene Terrasse mit Grill war auch vorhanden. Das Zug ist natürlich mehr für Abenteuer gedacht als für Leite die die perfekte Unterkunft suchen. Wir blieben in einem der Besseren Zimmer mit eigenem Bad, Abteil D.
