Holiday Inn Express & Suites Morton Peoria Area

This is the hotel that should serve as the example of what a hotel of this kind should be. Tremendous staff, clean and welcoming and well-maintained facility. We couldn't have been more pleased. Our experience with Holiday Inn Express on our trip across the country was, almost without exception...exceptional.

Post Covid - good service is hard to find. This place was fantastic though. Staff was so nice and friendly. Nice hot hotel breakfast. Nice pool and hot tub. Rooms were clean and had Keurig. The modern issue of needing more outlets but that minor. I don’t believe that there was a microwave in the room but that’s minor. Nice shower. This is a nice area to stop with a lot of restaurants and a Wal Mart. Rates ran lower than Galesburg. Sits outside of Peoria.

The Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Morton was the perfect choice for our visit. The employee team, as well as Michelle, the general manager, went out of their way to make us feel welcome and make our visit a success. The physical facility is in fine shape: well-equipped, well-maintained, clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was clean and well-stocked, even during a crowded weekend. The menu was a step above the usual. Beyond all that, the team made an obvious effort to respond to our requests and followed up to make sure we were satisfied. We were more than satisfied. I've traveled a lot. This is a model of a well-run hotel.

We stayed one night for a family wedding in September. Drove 3 hours and were able to check in early so we had time to get ready for the weeding. The hotel and our room were very clean, the staff was very welcoming and friendly. Bed and room were both very comfortable. The included breakfast was great - good variety, great cinnamon rolls, great coffee. Would definitely stay again next time we are in the area.

The room we were given was handicapped accessible--which we did not ask for nor did we need. The bathroom counter was so small that we couldn't keep our toiletries on it. There was no refrigerator or microwave. When I asked about it at the desk, I was told that those are only standard in the suites, but said they could bring them in, so we asked for a refrigerator, There was a very small table with two chair, but no desk. Lighting was poor. Breakfast was awful--tasteless biscuit sandwiches that had been microwaved. Parking lot was in back of hotel, and we had to enter and exit through the breakfast room. That was okay, except when we came in after 10 p.m. one night, the door was locked, so we had to walk around the building to the front. On the day we were leaving, we received two plastic bags on the door handle. One stated that they do not offer daily housekeeping services, and if we wanted our linens and towels washed, we had to put them into the second bag and leave them outside our room. SERIOUSLY??? We did NOT pay $130+ per night to prep the laundry!!! The ONLY reason I rated this property "Poor" and not "Terrible" is that the room was clean and beds were comfortable enough, and staff tried to help. EXTREMELY disappointing!!! We will NEVER come back to this property!!!

We stay at some 50-60 different IHG properties per annum (spire elite), and for the first time over the last several hundred stays had neither a microwave nor a refrigerator in the room. In point of fact, this is something called a Petersen Hotel, and its website does not list these amenities. Still, it is inside the IHG reservation system, and for $122.35/night it is not unreasonable to expect that IHG would demand the same level of amenities that this price commands system wide rather than leave it to clients to pore microscopically over the various features cataloged for each and every property in a vast network. Still, it is hard to see how a hotel room featuring a grand total of three electrical outlets in the main room (excluding the plug buried behind the cabinetry housing the TV), with two of these in the bedside lamp, could add more features without extensive renovation. Breakfast here was a bad joke. Apart from a tray of sweet rolls, there was nothing in the dining area to eat or drink at breakfast. One had to ask a member of staff to itemize what was to hand in the kitchen, and then wait for them to prepare plates. We cannot help but contrast this with the outstanding service we had less than 2 weeks earlier at the HIE in Pekin. On the plus side, this hotel sports a nice indoor pool and hot tub, which we enjoyed, and our room proved very quiet despite overlooking the westbound off ramp from I-74. In conclusion, therefore, this hotel would be a reasonable buy at $68-75 plus tax/night, but it is not even remotely worth what we were charged.
