We booked this because it gave us more or less equidistant access to Messa Verde, Arches and Canyonlands National Parks for about 1/3 the cost of rooms in Moab. We like the small town of Monticello, which was neat as a pin and had everything we needed; a few good restaurants, a very nice urgent care (which we needed), pharmacy, etc. Pretty much the same with the hotel .. it's an old style property, which we found charming .. the room was dated but not in a mid-century charming way. It was reasonably comfortable, reasonably clean and the ice machine was right next door. I would call it bit above adequate. Our expectations were pretty low so by that metric, we were pleasantly surprised. Given the same circumstances, we'd stay there again.
