Quality Inn & Suites Near Coliseum and Hwy 231 North

Overall I would never come back to this place or recommend anyone come here to stay unless you had no other options. Any “updates” they have made I would question as to what they are actually covering up underneath. The first room we were given smelled like mildew and mold from the moment we walked in. Then we noticed the bed covers all had cigarette burns despite it being no smoking rooms. When we checked the sheets they were dirty and smelled like they had not been changed. We asked for another room and once again the room smelled like mildew and mold but the sheets and coverings seemed clean. We should have just packed up and left but it was late in the day and ok enough to just stay for the night. We chose this place because it had a pool, was close to the Zoo, just off one of the major highways and inexpensive. Well the pool is not open and they would not say why. They said they did not have a workout remember besides it being on the website. The only nice thing was the zoo was 5-10 mins away and the breakfast was decent. Finally, I do need to give the front desk person some credit because he did offer to get us a new room but only after talking with his manager first.

The hotel is spotless, the lobby one of the nicest I have seen, it’s staff friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well maintained. The beds perfect and the pillows the softest in the business. CONS: 1) breakfast was a disappointment. Fewest choices of ANY Comfort-/ Quality Inn I have visited. No yogurt or bread/bagels. 2) Despite a week of 85 degree weather the pool was still closed 3) toilet was loose

I get points for staying at a Choice hotel so I chose this location. It was cool - right off the highway and near McDonald's/Wendy's/Waffle House. The bed and bathroom were clean. Keep in mind this is a basic, no frills hotel. Also, it's next to a Days Inn and you may see people in the parking hanging out at night.
