Location is good! Although service for 5 Star should be as it is in protocol. I have asked to deliver tea bags which I wanted, they provide in the room very strange flavor which is not common, I have asked via phone to provide me normal English breakfast but I was refused that they don’t have it. I still think with such a price and star hotel should satisfy the customers with any need during the stay in the hotel.

This should be the most satisfying hotel I stayed in during this trip. The facilities, environment, location and sea view of the room are all amazing. The hotel's breakfast is not a buffet, you have to order it yourself, which is very good. You can choose how much you want to spend. The breakfast is very delicious and the service is very thoughtful. It was a bit cold in the morning, so we sat on the terrace. The waiter turned on the big warm light for us. With the sea breeze and the sea view, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast with our beloved family. I really hope time will stay at this beautiful moment.

We spent 3 nights here.. given we had kids under 12 with us, who were excited about using the pool, we upgraded to a room with direct pool access through our patio. The resort is luxurious and has a lot of open areas... doesnt feel cramped for space, especially being a golf course. Kids loved the free smores kit they got to use by the bonfire. The kids play area with connect4, table tennis, putting etc. was cool too. Ample parking space and you can easily get one spot next to the building your room is in.

This hotel used to be amazing. In the past, I would have paid the premium cost for the service, location, and experience. Now, I just can't say that anymore. I have stayed at the Portola hotel a number of times and the last few times, it just hasn't been that great, yet they still charge the same premium price The hotel is in a great location, which is still a draw, but the experience has become average. I love going to Monterey and this hotel was a reason I would want to come back, but now I find myself looking elsewhere. Portola just doesn't meet the expectations they put forward for the premium price they charge. So if you get a good price on that harbor view room, I would say go for it. Note, you may end up with a partial view looking at the roof of a building across the way, with a partial view of the water. But I would stay here again if the price was right. But if prices are the same as some of the other waterfront hotels, I will likely book elsewhere.

1. There is free parking, but it is actually on the side of the road. When you checkin, ask yourself. 2. There is free WiFi but the signal is normal, sometimes it will break 3. The location is too inconspicuous. On the roadside, when the black sky arrives, it is invisible. It is 1.2 kilometers away from the center. If it is very inconvenient to eat here, it is quite dark, and there is basically no parking space in the center. 4. The front desk big sister is very nice 5. The room is very small, but the bed is still very large 1.8m, the box is basically not moving, there is no table, there is no place to put some things. 6. There is no heating or air conditioning. California is still cold in early March. Her husband is still wearing a nightgown to sleep. The nightgown is very thick and has hairy inside. 7. Great breakfast is great, great choice, coffe or tea, orange juice, first baked bread, butter or honey kumquat sauce, husband selected smoked salmon, my choice of potato bacon omelet, They are delicious, and they are very good. Enjoyed every night here. Complimentary adult beverage at the bar first night stay of the hotel was nice. But the best part was knowing 24 hr beach access right in front of our room was the best decision I ever made. Views were great. Not too far from down town. Definitely would recommend.

Our vacation flights to Chicago were canceled due to weather conditions and we were unhappy. We decided to have a getaway to Monterey and Carmel. We were lucky to make a last minute booking by booking.com at Travelodge. The booking was easy, price was incredibly reasonable and service was excellent. The staff were not only friendly and welcoming, but also made accommodations for my physical disability. We enjoyed our trip and Will definitely go back.

Very comfortable hotel conveniently located in downtown Monterey and short distance from 17 Mile Drive. Rooms are spacious and staff is very friendly. Room amenities are: individual sized coffee pot and mini fridge as well as standard hair dryer, toiletries and iron. Microwaves can be delivered to your room by request at no additional cost. The Marriott has a bar and serves breakfast (not included in room rate) and other meals. It is connected to the Monterey Convention Center so if you are attending a conference, this is the best place to be. If you need parking, be aware, only valet parking is available at $40 per day with in and out privileges. There are a couple parking garages with hourly rates within a couple block walk, they do not have in and out privileges. Valet service takes about 10-15 minutes to get your car depending on time of day. Mornings were a little longer wait. Wifi is not free unless you are a Bonvoy Member, you can sign up on the spot. Would stay here again.
