Sadly we were not offered a warm welcome. We were made to feel we were a big inconvenience. The receptionist was eating a meal and did not want to be disturbed. Apparently she told me she was coming but I thought she was talking to her coworker and didn’t hear her anyway. She told me she was looking straight at me so of course she was addressing me! She told us the manager made her do her receptionist duties even when she was trying to eat a meal. Sadly, a negative start to our stay so we chose not to stay and have drink at the bar for fear of inconveniencing her further and getting told off again. No the welcome we expected at all.

This a Lovely Hotel in the shadow of the Castle and just a short drive from the Le Shuttle - Very clean with great comfortable beds. Would have no hesitation in staying again. A handy stop on our way through France to Florence and then on to Rome.

One particular receptionist was so rude it was laughable. She clearly hates the English, but if you work in hospitality you need to transcend your prejudices, surely? On a plus side, the cleaning staff were lovely and the breakfast pretty good. But reception is the shop window, so please speak to this rude woman.

Lift not working fortunately we only had to carry our luggage up to the first floor. Limited restaurant, could only cater for 5 tables with a very limited menu.Foam top to mattress made it too warm. No power points in room just 1 in the bathroom.

Overnight stay as part of a coach party. We were late arriving but the staff had a meal ready and served us immediately. Breakfast was equally efficient the following morning. I had a basic but clean room on the second floor. Poor view but this was not a problem

We had an excellent stay in the Ibis Laon. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, the room was clean and serviced both days. Very good food , drinks and polite service. Also a secure car park over night. Altogether great value for money

Vraiment étonnant : ce samedi 29 déc , Un samedi rouge d’allers et retours entre les vacanciers de Noël et Nouvel An , cet Ibis sur la route des anglais et belges entre autres touristes ,n’ouvre pas son resto/grill ...donc pas de restauration ,même rapide ( une soupe par ex )sur place sous prétexte de peu de fréquentation .pourtant ,le midi , nous avions renoncé de manger dans les restos d’autoroute à 1h de là , tant il y avait de files de touristes en attente .... Lorsque vous arrivez ,fatigués d’heures d’autoroute , vous n’avez plus envie de reprendre le véhicule pour chercher à vous restaurer et il n’y a pas de restaurant alentours. Sur notre trajet aller, 8 jours auparavant nous avions passé une nuit non loin de là au Kyriad de St Quentin .Nous étions jusqu’ici et de longue date , fidèles aux Ibis Style ou Rouges mais progressivement et fréquemment déçus à travers la France . Ainsi dans cet Ibis rouge de Laon , pas de boisson autre qu’au bar , alors qu’au Kyriad ( pas plus cher ; 100€ grande chambre +2 bons petits déjeuners + suplt chien )nous avons trouvé un plateau de courtoisie dans la chambre avec bouteille d’eau , thé ,café ( pour 2 pers et 2 services ) mini gâteaux , et dans le hall , à volonté thé et café ( capsules ). Je dois tout de même pointer l’extrême amabilité et le professionnalisme de la jeune femme à la réception qui nous a donné le choix entre 2 chambres eu égard à la grande taille du panier de notre chien.
