Holiday Inn Express & Suites Selinsgrove - University Area
4.6/599 Reviews
Bright clean room, good blackout curtains. I needed to change rooms because of the traffic noise, handled swiftly. The Holiday Inn Express in Selinsgrove is always a nearly perfect stay. Very well managed, care a lot about meeting your needs. The person who checked me in even took time to highlight, on the list of places to get takeout, which place was not in the direction of dense traffic. The woman who worked the weekend desk was very friendly, very helpful. I was there for a funeral, so I really appreciated her kind smile and helpfulness. Spoke with male and female housekeeper on the 3rd floor, friendly and informative. Room 334 overlooks busy highway, hills beyond. it is quite loud, with decibels to 82, as 18-wheelers first brake, then accelerate as they merge. The view is expansive, faces E/SE. If you're not bothered by road noise this would be an ideal room for a morning riser, very bright. Room 307 looks directly into trees; I enjoyed watching the cardinals feed their babies while I had my morning coffee. It faces W/NW, enjoyed watching the light change on the top of the trees, AM & PM. This room is very quiet, ambient sound is 35 decibels, from a continuous bathroom duct updraft. Peaceful. Nice sized fridge, lots of towels, pleasant Dove hand soap lotion body wash shampoo and conditioner. Breakfast was hot and fresh, and even APPLE BUTTER! Immaculate, well organized breakfast setting. Full size iron and ironing board was handy. There are two minor negatives. One is the Keurig coffee maker with nasty Green Mountain coffee with hardly any creamer or sugars and only a few pods. HOWEVER, you can get more of everything at the front desk, though I suggest bring your own pods. Snack machine only take $1 bills. I do feel it's priced high for central PA, for a Fri to Monday, rates could be up to 164 before taxes. 115-120 would be more reasonable for this area. Nightly taxes added up to over 36.00 for 3 nights, making my 3 nights average $150.00 ea, with AAA rate. BUT, if you check out reviews for other local hotels, you'll notice a lot of issues you won't experience here.
