Nous avons découvert pour la première fois la Maison lors d'un week-end début novembre 2024. Nous avons été agréablement surpris par la beauté du lieu, autant par les espaces intérieurs (la chambre, le bar, la salle de petit déjeuner, les différents salons) que par les espaces extérieurs (les jardins, la piscine, le toit terrasse qui offre une vue magnifique sur les montagnes). Nous tenons également à remercier l'ensemble du personnel pour leur attention, l'équipe a su rendre cette expérience personnalisée et unique. En conclusion, nous recommandons vivement le Château de Riell qui offre une parenthèse hors du temps dans un environnement somptueux au cœur de la nature.

The chateau is extraordinary. Beautiful location, magical, comfortable room, incredible view. The staff was lovely and helpful. Small details and quirks to make our stay memorable. However, we would not eat at the restaurant again. It's more looks than taste - sure, the dishes that come out look beautiful, but the food itself was just okay. More than that, we had awful service - truly it tarnished our experience, unfortunately. Our waitress didn't explain the menu or what to expect, the menu itself (especially the dessert menu) was unclear and when we asked for clarity she pretty much humiliated us in front of the restaurant, raising her voice and shouting at us. Truly it is beyond my comprehension why someone like that would work in the service industry, and it's too bad.

There are no complaints about the hotel except for it should be classified at 4*. There is a lack of amenities and srrvices to qualify as a 5*. Also the breakfast doesn't live up to that. Staff was very friendly, the location is picturesque and the building and rooms beautiful.

We spent 1 night at Chateau de Riell. The property is truly beautiful and the staff very friendly (the dinner at the restaurant was very good too), but the castle and the rooms need a good upgrade. There are 2 swimming pools, one of them is on the rooftop, which is uncommon for an old castle - there is also a tennis court. The bar and some areas are weirldy decorated with an “out of Africa” theme which is very strange. Do not book the Cottage rooms: the standards are not up to a Relais et Chateaux. The furniture is very old (not in a good way), the equipment has not been changed in a while, the finitions are not good... we haven’t seen the rooms inside the castle but they might be better.

The ratings of this Hotel are well earned. We enjoyed our room near the pool with a private terrace for relaxing and reading. Large bathroom with double sinks, with a rather hobbit like decor. Kitschy and we liked it. Great hiking in the area and the hotel supplies clear directions in writing. The Hotel's restaurant does really fine and creative food, professionally served. The Breakfast room is seemingly suspended on the side of the small canyon. Breakfast is a bit pricey, but top quality croissants, rolls, bread, and fresh squeezed orange juice. Our 2 nights here were really nice

Faisant partie de la famille du Chef, j'ai pû visiter ce château sans en être cliente. Les chambres sont superbes, la salle de restaurant juste splendide. Le personnel est d'une courtoisie à toute épreuve. Et que dire de la carte ? c'est délicieux. Deux piscines chauffées, un garage pour les autos, un parc au coeur d'un écrin de verdure grandiose... j'ai hâte de pouvoir m'y offrir un petit séjour.

Superbe propriété où les jardins et le bâtiment sont en excellent état. L’impression d’être « chez soi » avec contenant et contenu mis à disposition en toute bienveillance par un personnel toujours au service de l’hôte. La région est magnifique et les promenades magiques et revigorantes. Le repos est assuré dans tous les coins et recoins du jardin et du château. Le menu « gastronomique » est à la hauteur de ses promesses : très original et complet. Certains pourraient être surpris par son caractère innovant. Mais le gout est bien là. Le chef excelle dans le maniement des saveurs du début du repas au dessert. On ressent la nature, la forêt, l’automne. Il est un champion de l’utilisation des herbes aromatiques. L’enchainement des plats est parfait. Le personnel connait la carte et les vins et peut en parler avec précisions. J’avais choisi (comme souvent) des vins au verre en laissant l’initiative au chef. Je n’ai pas regretté. J’ai beaucoup aimé que la découverte de chacun des vins commence par une dégustation de quelques millilitres. Dans tous les autres restaurants de cette classe souvent le verre est rempli sans préambule. J’ai aimé aussi la proximité du « grand hôtel », du spa et de ses jardins : des hectares de ballades pour ceux qui aiment… En bref, satisfaction à 100% !
