This hotel was absolutely beautiful, stunning views amazing location and great staff, we stayed in the annex which was so beautiful. We booked all our trips with Sylvia in the hotel foya she was so knowledgeable and attentive to our needs and made our holiday. The location was superb beautiful little harbour and a lovely walk on the promenade

Modern vibe to this hotel, it has a large airy reception with a well tended reception. All of the clean open spaces, from the outside pool to indoor pool, games room, and bar area. The room we were in was compact, too small for 3 adults. The bathroom had a powerful shower and toiletries. There were 3 staying in the room with vert little space, only 2 chairs on the balcony and 3 mismatched cups for the tea and coffee provided. Accessibility:- two roomy lifts, but there was a steep incline to the pool and beach. We had breakfast included, which usual continental and English cooked breakfast. I would give it 7/10.

Stayed in a standard room which was supposedly for 3 people, it was very small with a large bed and a camp bed right next to each other. There was no room between the two beds. Room was cleaned every day. Tea and coffee facilities, small fridge and free safe. Small bathroom with a shower cubicle, good powerful shower and plenty of hot water, free toiletries. Wardrobe with a few hangers but no drawers. Pool area is lovely, plenty of sunbeds and a great pool bar serving a good selection of food. We stayed bed and breakfast, big dining room, plenty of choice for breakfast and good coffee machine. The indoor pool is a great size. We didn’t use any spa facilities. The hotel is in a good position for water taxis and plenty of bars/restaurants all close by. Would stay here again if we got a good deal but would ask for a bigger room.

Reading one of the reviews written today I would advise just to completely ignore it. I think this reviewer has had a bad day as this describes a completely different hotel to where I have just checked out of this morning. No issues with the room, all really comfortable with everything you need. I found all of the hotel staff the most pleasant and courteous I have ever come across and they will go out of their way to help you (this is also after I witnessed a group of people being extremely rude to the young ladies working the hotel bar 2 days before I left). The hotel pool is of a great standard and there are plenty of sun loungers to use. If I did have one little complaint then it would be having to pay €10 for hotel guests to use a lounger on the hotel beach, however I never felt the need to use one. Food was decent I thought and contrary again to another review written today there is plenty of room in the restaurant. As for entertainment. Personally it’s not for me however hotel entertainment in general is not for me as we prefer to be out and about in the resort where we are staying. Personally I would recommend this hotel and I find some reviewers just like to pick faults. Would I go back - Yes if I was planning to stay in Mlini again. All good for us and a really nice weeks stay so 5 stars

Masitra Select has a lot going for it. It's in a wonderful location and the sunsets are to die for. It is a 25 minute water ferry ride away from Dubrovnik and it was heavenly to return back to Mlini after the busy streets of the Old Town. The room we stayed in was super comfortable, admittedly not the biggest in the world but perfectly adequate for what we needed. The staff were lovely - they had a good snack prepared for us when we arrived as we were late, and everyone was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is a little haphazard. The food is set on an island in the middle of the restaurant and it really brings the whole experience down a bit. The food was fine but there isn't a massive selection. Shift the hot food, do some live cooking, offer omelettes in the morning and you could make a vast improvement. The sun loungers were plentiful and we were always able to sit by the pool. pop a couple of water stations by the pool area and that would be lovely too. Would I go back- yes I would but I might stay at their sister hotel along the road which is 4*

First impressions upon arrival was wow, what a clean modern hotel. We were directed to block 2, around 150 metres from the main hotel. We made our way to our room via the stairs as there are no lifts in block 2, and found it clean, tidy and very small, very small. We subsequently found that the furniture, beds mainly, was of a light construction and moved easily when brushed against or sat on, this movement created very loud resonating noises through all rooms above and below yours, this was exaggerated by their being no soft floor finishes fitted. The cleaning staff were excellent. The area is quiet with good connections to nearby areas, including Dubrovnik. The bistro attached to the hotel and by the sea is very good and offered a selection of drinks including local draught beer, which the hotel bar did not, the buffet was , in my opinion, limited, and unless you had an exemption with your tour you had to pay for still water, which I found extraordinary. This is my honest review.

We stayed in the apartments next to the hotel and had breakfast in the hotel. The area of Mlini is beautiful and compact. Lots of restaurants, small beaches, lovely walks and bus route and harbour to get the boat. The hotel was very clean and up together. The staff were really friendly and polite. The pool area clean and tidy. There was no noise at night. Just a really beautiful place to stay

Stayed for a week in September. Booked a superior annex room. Very comfortable bed and the pillows were amazing! Room was cleaned everyday with fresh towels,,excellent service from the cleaner. Kettle and fridge in room. Bathroom was quite small but shower was good. Pool towels which can be changed everyday. The view from the balcony was stunning room 823. No lift in the annex which might be a problem for anyone with mobility issues but I did notice when people of a ‘certain age’ arrived they were transported via a golf buggy and their suitcases taken to their rooms. Hotel is modern and everywhere is very clean. Food was fine and restaurant staff work so hard. Lots of sun loungers around the pool, again very clean but the pool was like ice, absolutely freezing! The indoor pool and spa are lovely, there’s also a steam room and sauna . We went most days. The hotel is right on the beach and has a restaurant there for lunch and drinks, we had several lovely lunches here with a stunning view. Several restaurants and bars close to the hotel, supermarket is about 15 minutes away. Harbour with boats to Dubrovnik etc is only a few minutes away. We loved our stay at the Astarea, the staff are lovely and work very hard. Will definitely return.

Croatia is stunning, the area very pretty, we had lovely visits to Dubrovnik and Cavtat, Lokrum Island etc, all easy by boat and or bus. Easy and quick transfer from the airport. However the hotel sadly, fell short of our expectations. There were obvious signs it had been hastily made ready for guests, after it's renovation. Ceilings and paintwork in the bathroom were not finished, all the lamps in the room had not even been plugged in, their cords still folded and wired together as new. So not pat tested. This would just be illegal in the Uk, not sure about Croatian law. My daughter tripped on an uneven path that hadn't been properly finished, hurt her toe and fainted on our last morning! Not good at all! Air conditioning in rooms is not fit for purpose. When it's 35 degrees outside you need your room to be a sanctuary away from the heat. It was not. The lowest temperature you could set it to was 20 degrees, however, it might have been that temperature literally sat on top of the unit, but the air did not spread across the room, partly as it was a unit low down rather than on the ceiling like everywhere else. The corridor outside was cool, why couldn't we have had that temperature instead of wasting energy cooling a corridor?! It was boiling at night. I had to resort to using a wet towel over me rather than a sheet or duvet! Never known anything like it! Meals, we went half board. Breakfast was total chaos, the hotel has space and the facility to offer two buffet sections, thus spreading the guests out, instead everyone, in the fully booked 307 room hotel were trying to serve themselves in a very small space. I've never seen such a chaotic buffet area! Also the staff were just not on top of it. Milk next to the coffee machines, often left empty, just no reason. Simple service lacking. I saw one senior member of the team, an older lady practically shouting at a guest for simply trying to fill her water bottle at the water and juice machine. There was no where to fill water bottles apart from the tap in your room, and you would have to refrigerate this for a while to make it cold. It's just water, why so angry!? Create a facility for free water! Dinner, just ok, very samey every night. Desserts were very poor, lots of random cakes, no labels, some of which literally tasted of nothing. They also refused to serve tap water at dinner, you were forced to buy mineral. Although we just brought a bottle of tap water every night and filled our glasses. Just basic again to have tap water available with dinner. But it made us feel awkward doing this, for no reason. Pool, there was a small children's pool, but hardly any kids used it, meaning the main pool was constantly full of kids and adults playing with balls, the rules clearly state no balls, but there was no enforcement of this, so you couldn't swim without being in the middle of someone's game. On route into the hotel one afternoon we saw a table tennis table with paddles and ball out,
