We were quite apprehensive prior to our stay here as the ratings were quite low and some scathing for a Hilton resort hotel that opened about a year ago. There were even some minor hiccups during check-in that confirmed our prior bias to the negative. However, all that changed rather quickly night after night. And to make a long story short, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would stay there without hesitation if we were to return to the beautiful island of Miyakojima. In hind sight, I believe the hotel went through some early growing pains when they opened in June 2023. The island itself, much like other rural areas of Japan, is going through seismic demographic changes, leaving it with a shortage of local workers--most of their employees are either from the main island of Honshu or from overseas. After their initial launch, they seem to have made significant changes ironing out those early wrinkles. And this may always be a work in progress for any establishment for that matter: There were some issues we noticed with the lines for breakfast. Hilton Diamond members are able to make advanced breakfast reservations, whereas non-Diamond members are not thereby having to wait in line for breakfast that can be quite long. The issue here is that there is no separate line for the Diamond members, so when they go to the front to inform of their reservation, those waiting in line think they're cutting in (as they don't know what's going on and they're frustrated with the long lines to begin with) setting the stage for some potential 'fireworks' (angry customers) that actually happened during our stay. My suggestion to alleviate this would be--and I've seen this done at other Hiltons--to have 2 clearly delineated lines with signs: one for Diamond members with reservations, and the other for non-Diamond members. This way the staff doesn't have to keep explaining to the others waiting that some customers have reservations, and, the Diamond members won't feel bad going straight to the front ahead of the others waiting in long lines. Service at every function we experienced was great, we had no issue with the DIY bottling of drinking water, the swimming/walking at beach was fantastic, parking was abundant, and to top it off, we were blessed with favorable weather.

It's very beautiful and I can wash and I want to stay again.

On the first day, I walked to the hotel without knowing about the shuttle bus, but since it's hot, I recommend making a reservation and using the shuttle bus. I went to the evening buffet, which seems to be irregular. (Reservation required) It seems that there are days when they serve Japanese food and days when they serve Western food. It's nice to be able to take a break in your room after coming back from the beach and eat in the hotel. I enjoyed the buffet in the bright and clean restaurant both in the morning and at night ^ ^ There was also a pool, and although I didn't book a particularly large room, I had a comfortable stay.

Avoid at all costs. This hotel is 3 stars at best and charges 5 star rates. The property only benefits from its stunning views and location which is not unique and can be achieved anywhere on Miyako. The mid level room was over $1000 and was nowhere near the quality of the other luxury hotels we have stayed at on our two week honeymoon. All of the reviews that are glowing are surely from guests who do not know what a $1000 hotel experience should be. The service at dinner was unbearably slow nearly 2 hours to deliver 1 soup 1 salad and 1 entree. Water was never filled. Our server was so preoccupied in long conversations with other Japanese guests and tables with loud and disruptive children. Lastly the bed was unbearably hard. I know this is a personal preference but trust me there was something wrong with this bed. A hard foam bed with zero fluffy surface at all equivalent to putting a 1cm foam pad on the floor. You will be much happier staying at the brand new hilton hotel.

I stayed for 3 nights in a 5th floor Standard Twin room in the Ocean Wing side of the resort. The Ocean Wing has 6 floors, and is older than the Coral Wing, which has 9 stories. While the Coral Wing apparently has wider views, the view from my room was nevertheless spectacular. Given the hotel faces West there’s a great view of the sunset from the ocean-view rooms. I also liked that my Ocean Wing room had wood floors. It was very spacious with 2 very comfortable double beds and a small seating area. The bathroom has shutters that you can open in order to see the view. A nice bonus was the beautiful Okinawa Botanicals bathroom products. While this is not a luxury resort, and the building and facilities are a bit dated, it is very well maintained. The grounds are gorgeous, with beautiful trees and gardens (and a very small golf course). The Yonaha-Maehama Beach on which the resort sits, is perfect - soft white sand and crystal clear water. You can access the beach on the south side of the resort only. There are lots of beach chairs and umbrellas maintained by the resort. I met a few staff who spoke good English, and with the others I had no problems communicating using the iPhone Translate app. The staff are so kind - absolutely every staff will greet you as you go by. I loved the restaurants, especially the barbecue restaurant. Also the buffet breakfast (included, you can also choose traditional Japanese breakfast) was excellent - I loved the fresh lychee and other fruits, omelette bar and espresso machine. I rented an electric-assist bike from the hotel’s beach club (¥1,000/hr) to explore Kurina-Jima, which was tons of fun. it was great having the 24-hour coin laundromat on site (wash ¥200, laundry soap provided). There are coin dryers or there was a full drying rack in the room, which was very convenient. The only thing I didn’t love about this resort was the pool. There’s unfortunately a raised platform that blocks most of the view of the ocean from the pool. I only saw kids and their parents use it during my stay. Fortunately the gorgeous beach is only steps away… Overall I found this resort to be super relaxing and excellent value for the price.

Thank you for your help in 4 nights and 5 days. I was able to check in and check out without contact with anyone. Of course, you can use a rental car. It's a trip that cannot be made without a rental car. Taxis hardly come. It was good to have separate baths and toilets, but the hot water in the bath was from the shower. e? I thought. why? There was no explanation. I knew there was a washing machine dryer, but I brought a lot of clothes and failed. I didn't trust the dryer. However, except for swimsuits, it takes at least 2 days! Moreover, it is finished fluffy with a dryer. It was fluffy rather than sun-dried. I brought detergent and fabric softener, but I didn't need it. The washing machine detergent was in the room, and the fabric softener was also on the first floor where I went to get towels and so on. I borrowed a hanger, but in the end I didn't need it in the dryer. I washed and dried my swimsuit every day and 🆗, so I didn't need any clothes. Like a set meal. after. There are pajamas, as someone wrote. It's different from the top and bottom. If you think you're sweating, you can replenish it on the first floor. There is no cleaning, but it is not painful to put the towels you used in the collection bag on each floor and make up for them. If you are traveling for a long time, I sorted out the garbage by myself. On the last day, I asked for it. ３ It was a stay with people, but the sofa bed was comfortable. I thought I would go to Mutsumi, who will be an izakaya at night, on the last day, but I couldn't go because I didn't make a reservation, so I walked about 1 km to the izakaya Denmi. It was delicious, but what about cospa? I felt a little expensive. I couldn't go to a nearby Nakayuki store, so I want to revenge next year.

The hotel is one of the hotels in the entire Shigira Resort. The resort is very large and there are many things to do. There are free tuk-tuks or buses connecting each hotel to the ropeway and beach, which is very convenient. The hotel has a free shuttle bus to Miyako Airport. No reservation is required for pick-up, it is right at the arrival exit; drop-off needs to be booked at the front desk. There are golden hot springs, ropeways and other facilities around. There are turtles in the bay at the door, and there are many kinds of marine sports. We signed up for paddle board and free diving tour. The room itself has a washing machine, which is very important. Go into the water several times a day, and wash wet clothes quickly. It also has its own kitchen, large refrigerator, oven, and coffee machine. The air conditioning is very powerful. Disadvantages: This family room is in Habor Wing, the facilities are old, the floor is still bulging, and although the cleaning is timely, cockroaches are found. The bedding is not very comfortable.

The hotel is very hygienic and the bedroom is a bit small, but in such an expensive place on the island, this hotel is cost-effective. There is a bus directly to the airport at the airport. It is only the first bus that arrives at the airport in the morning. It seems to be 9 o'clock. The early flight will definitely only take a taxi. It is expensive to take a taxi on the island. The hotel has a shuttle bus that is close to the nearby beaches, golf courses, and German villages. But if you go to other attractions on the island, it is recommended to rent a car, although not cheap, but better than a taxi. The front desk will speak simple English and communication will be fine. The service is very good. In addition, the hotel only serves breakfast and lunch, no dinner. Next to the hotel is a small fat sheep and a croquet cow or a restaurant, which is also very convenient. The shuttle bus within the resort is very good, divided into blue and yellow lines. The hotel also offers free cable car tours, which is very cost effective.

This is the second year we have stayed here. We stayed here as a family of four for three nights. The children love the loft on the second floor, and as soon as they arrived this year, they were happy to spread out their luggage freely. The jacuzzi gave us a tropical feel, and we used it many times, day and night. It's the best. There is a drum washing machine, so we can do laundry without stress. It takes about four hours from washing to drying. They gave us one free detergent every day, but we brought our own gel balls. The beach directly connected to the hotel is the best in Miyakojima. It's a hermit crab paradise at night. You can see the stars and the fireworks at Shigira Beach. The adjacent Imgya Marine Garden also has a spectacular view, and the sea is full of fish, so it's worth seeing. The breakfast is also very delicious and has many dishes. There are many dishes that are local specialties of Miyakojima. The buffet at the Coral Blue restaurant at night is also recommended (reservations required). The room we stayed in the first year was not as sunny this time, but there was a dehumidifier, so our swimsuits and other things dried quickly, which was a relief. All the hotel staff who helped us were polite and kind. Rather than just thinking about what we were doing and calling out to us, it felt like if we called out to them, someone would immediately respond. The cleaning staff would often make eye contact with us and smile when they passed us on the street, which left a very good impression. There were shisa lions on the roofs of each building, which were very cute. If you go to Miyakojima, this is a recommended place to stay. I would like to go again.
