Holiday Inn Milwaukee Riverfront

Do not stay! Pool smell is brutal. Halls smell. Slow at the check in. Loud dogs left in rooms with no owners around. Brutal. Just go elsewhere. We did not get to use the pool at all or the hot tub due to the stench. Not sure about the restaurant. Will try tomorrow

Unfortunately, this was one of the dirtiest chain hotel properties I have ever stayed at. There were fresh stains on the duvet of one of the beds and hairs all over the walls of the shower. The front desk and bartender were nice people, but it was a filthy property.

Upon arriving from work, there was a strong smell of gas. The front desk did not notice and did not want us to call 911. We did anyway, the staff left a pilot light on. Do not stay here. The previous night the fire alarm went off at 5am. The lack of care is dangerous.

We have stayed here several times while visiting family. It’s always been great for our needs, but our most recent stay was not satisfactory. Our bathroom was in disrepair. There were cracked tiles in the shower, and broken cabinet handles, hand soap dispensers, and towel hooks. Our room did not get cleaned two days in a row even after we asked for housekeeping. No housekeeping is not a problem if we are given a heads up that they are short on staff, etc., but that was not the case. Our towels had hair stuck to them and stains. Other people were leaving bags of trash and towels in the hall because their rooms weren’t getting cleaned either. Our 1 year old daughter was with us, and her feet were filthy from crawling on the carpet. Disgusting! We won’t be staying here again, which is a disappointment considering it’s been our go-to in the past.

No luggage carts available at check in. Main elevator was down so nobody felt like returning them staff left them sit in the hall all weekend. No one worked on main elevator all weekend. Rail in back elevator broken. Multiple ice machines broken had to try every floor before finding a working one on floor four! They charge 10-16$ for breakfast depending if you prepay. Most hotels this would be a free continental breakfast. The food ****** the juice room temperature the good news they suck at checking for tickets so many people are for free they were lucky. My girlfriend was looking for our van keys that were lost in the deck after closing time and security yelled at her instead of attempting to even help a guest. This was my worst hotel experience in memory and I travel a lot

When we checked in we saw the pool and hot tub was out of service. (the only reason why I chose this hotel was because I wanted to relax in the hot tub & it looked well kept in pictures...) Credit cards were down so they only accepted cash. Our TV remote didn’t work. We put in new batteries and it was fine. We only had decaf coffee in our room for the kuerig and then when we tried to use it, it shut off…. The time on the clock was wrong. There was no extra blanket or pillow in the closet. The drains in the sinks and bathtub were extremely slow to go down. To top it all off there were 3 black hairs in the bath tub…. Terrible experience. Never again.

The entire place should be audited to remain a Holiday Inn. Room was disgusting, unclean. Pool is falling apart. Bartender overcharged and didn't give proper change back. Fight broke out at midnight in the parking lot. Front desk did nothing about it when called, for a half hour. Multiple guests called 911 to get Glendale police there to stop the fight. Keep going north to Whitefish Bay or further, or downtown Milwaukee for a relaxing stay. This hotel needs a major overhaul throughout, rooms, staff behavior, new pool, security. The week before we stayed apparently hundreds of cars had their windows smashed at this hotel. IHG should not want their label on this place until things dramatically change.

We spent a disappointing week at the Holiday Inn Riverfront. The location is great - convenient to the north shore, the east side & downtown. Since our last visit, things have deteriorated significantly. First the staff is clearly unhappy. There was no breakfast one morning because the chef didn't show up; the next day more restaurant staff was missing so service was very very slow. The rooms need refurbishing - the finish on our tub was pealing off; the drawer in our nightstand wouldn't close; the wallpaper in the bathroom had large areas with white splotches of paint, joint compound or paste. Housekeeping was disorganized - we asked for but didn't get clean towels on the 3rd day of our stay, but our bath mat disappeared. No one was at the front desk when we wanted to check out. Other guests complained of issues with housekeeping & room conditions. This is a shame because it could be - and was - a great place to stay. Clearly, new and better management is needed.

This hotel was a complete disappointment. When we arrived, the front desk was not busy and we got to our room only to find the room smelled awful. There was toilet paper in the toilet and hair on a towel we hadn’t used. My partner went downstairs to request another room and they had one available. The next room seemed better, but after we went to dinner and came back it smelled as bad as the first. I could not handle the smell and the dampness in the rooms, so I slept at my daughters house on an air mattress the next night. He went back with Lysol spray and slept in the room, but he said the smell was bad. When he went to breakfast the next morning, there was a tour bus full of people and he couldn’t get any food. But he filled his cup with coffee, only to find out it was ice cold. This hotel needs a DEEP CLEANING. IT IS FILTHY AND SMELLS AWFUL.
