We liked this place. The rooms are clean, spacious, and comfortable. It's an old-fashioned motel with some updated touches. Beds were comfortable. It was nice to sit out on the room's small deck that overlooks the river. The owners were very nice and accomodating. It's also a quick drive to some great restaurants.

Owner Jayne was lovely and very helpful. The reasonably-priced suites are more like a small apartment with large, comfy living room and full sized kitchen, etc. Housekeeper does great job. The photos don’t do it justice as far as the nice furnishings in our suite. Quiet area. Be sure to check out the Governors Restaurant and Bakery (about a 10-minute drive). It was delicious with amazing desserts.

Attention cyclists! The Bangor area of Maine is great for rolling and gently rolling well paved, shouldered roads in looped tours. And the absolute best place to stay during your stay in the area is at the Milford Motel On The River from which you can cycle right from the motel. Larry and Jayne Zeitlin are wonderful, bike friendly hosts who have always been attentive to our needs as tandem cyclists requiring a first floor accommodation. My wife and I are from western CT and have made the trip to this motel every year since 2009. Noteworthy is the comfortable beds, kitchen amenities, and over-all quietness of the place regarding other guests. I highly recommend this motel. Russ Domareck

We stayed for 8 nights and found the motel to be peaceful and pleasant. The owners and staff provided excellent accommodations and service. We enjoyed the balcony and river views. While at the motel, we saw wildlife including deer and bald eagles. Thank you, Jayne and Staci, for a pleasant experience.

I stayed here to attend a concert in Bangor. It is located 25 minutes outside of Bangor, so it’s a good alternative if you don’t want to pay the jacked up prices for the hotels in Bangor. The motel is dated however, it is very cozy and clean. The rooms are also spacious. The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels provided. Some rooms even have a kitchenette and a nice balcony overlooking the river. The owner was extremely nice and even gave us a free upgrade.

Best prices in the greater Bangor/Orono/Milford area. Exactly what a locally owned motel would be. Clean motel and feels safe. Comfortable bed. Cleanest bathroom. Cool folksy decoration. Very nice owners!

The owner, Jayne and her staff were wonderful and provided a very well maintained room with great accomidations; all at a very reasonable rate. This is the best motel we stayed in during our 10 day trip throughout Maine.

We stayed at The Motel for a few nights this week. The room & property were very clean. The suite was cozy and had recently been updated. The owner was kind and accommodating. We have already booked our next stay.
