I’m giving it 1 star because they won’t let me give it zero stars! The room was a total disaster! If it was really late at night, and I had a 4 hour drive with my 83 year old grandmother I would have LEFT!!! The bathroom was stained, the kitchen floor was completely sticky, the stove has not been cleaned in probably a decade. The tv didn’t work, the bed was so soft it was un-sleepable. Room had a different smell that I couldn’t place the odor. It was so bad that I will not stay at another Hawthorn Suites unless it’s an emergency!!

A lot of things going on at this particular hotel were not dealt with properly because management was more afraid of losing an employee who was bringing problems to the hotel and having to step up and cover that shift if the management fired the employee which aloud a lot more things to happen and continue with no consequences! Also I feel that there were illegal activity by management at the property!!

My family and I had the misfortune of staying at your hotel from May 20, 2022, to May 21, 2022, in room number 324. During our stay, we encountered a number of unsatisfactory service levels that I think you should know of and hopefully do something about. First, it took more than an half hour to check us in even though we had a confirmed reservation. Why it took so long is beyond my comprehension. When I asked the reception staff about the reason of the delay, she stated that she was trying to locate me a room. Second, when we entered the room, the front door looked as though it had been kicked in. The room had not been vacuumed nor swept, the bathroom cabinet was stuffed with dirty towels that smelled of urine and feces, the upstairs bathtub had not been cleaned, the toilet had feces floating in it and the downstairs bed was still dirty. The refrigerator had broken shelves, bathroom cabinets missing drawer fronts, draperies falling off of the windows, and roaches that clearly had overtaken the room. I wonder what do the housecleaning people at your hotel do exactly to prepare the room for the next guest. Do they have a checklist, or do they just randomly go through stuff? When I drove back around to the front office to complain, the staff presented me with several excuses, and blank stares. I thought I was in the Twilight Zone speaking to aliens or something. I was told that the housekeeping staff had quit because your last day of operation for the hotel would be in four days. Which I found out later from one of the residences that was a lie. Thirdly, I had just driven over eight hours from Dacula, GA with my family to attend a funeral and to enter into a hotel room that looked the way in which your hotel looked was even more disheartening and added more pain and stress to what I am already emotionally dealing with at this time. To top it off the room beneath me had high volume traffic going in and out all night. I sat on the edge of the bed in fear all night. I attempted to get a room at one of the neighboring hotels that night and they were all sold out and it was also midnight when I arrived at your hotel. You willing to give me a full refund was the least of my expectations, I had stopped payment on my credit card and begun the dispute process. Your establishment needs to be condemned by the Health Department and the Better Business Bureau

Wow - where do I start. Stayed there for one night April 30, 2022. It was the most disgusting room I've ever seen. Floors were filthy, smelled like someone smoked a case a day inside, walls were streaked with brown water - I am guessing from the smoking they try to cover up, there was some sort of "brown poop like" material stuck to bathroom walls, toilet seat had seen MUCH better days, bathroom door had clearly been kicked in at some point and a cheap plaster attempt to fix it had basically failed, we refused to take our shoes off in the room, what stains all over the couch, stove was missing burners, burners that were there were not attached and laying in a pile, bathroom vanity had no drawer fronts and had nails sticking straight out - super safe for the kiddos we had with us, the entire building we were in had ZERO smoke/fire alarms - our family basically had all the rooms in one "block" so we checked them all. The no smoke detector issue has been sent to the county fire inspector, FYI. That is just some of what was inside - OUTSIDE - wow......we witnessed what we're pretty sure was a drug deal go down on the basketball court, they played ball all night long, set off fireworks, car alarms, multiple visits from law enforcement overnight, sirens, screaming, yelling, and the entire area smelled like pot. It was awful. I have no idea how this place is still in business. I am not from this area and thankfully had to spend very little time in this room or I would have said heck no and cut my loses.

The room was disgusting. Stains on the pull-out couch and mattress (No sheets for pull out, only small blanket and pillow with no case). Half of the door frame was off, and then placed leaning against a nearby wall. Cigarette burns on the bed's mattress topper, sheets were not cleaned beforehand. The toilet in the restroom had been used and not flushed before we entered. In the ceiling where the smoke detector should be, there was just a hole in the ceiling. That being said, staff was very nice and approchable, gave us a new set of sheets for the bed upon request. Bed was comfy, had a good night's rest, but couldn't be happy about it because we were upset on thee state of the room.

Where to begin? I stayed there for one night on April 8, 2022 for one night. It was disgusting and the property is dirty. The smoke detector in my room was torn out of the ceiling and sitting in the closet. There was an exposed electronic outlet. The lock on the outside door was broken. The closet door was literally sitting on the floor. The room smelled like smoke. The hotel had no interest in dealing with me so my only option is to write reviews. Do not stay here. It is a fire hazard and should be shut down by the fire marshall. Had my child with me and wouldn't let him be without socks and shoes on because of the disgusting room we were in.

I was in three different rooms during my stay and each one was in very poor conditions and dirty. The amenities were in poor condition, e.g., the oven was filthy, and the coffee machine had no pot. Consider some-place else.

Filthy inside and out; even closets had dirt in them. Could not walk on the floors without shoes. Nasty curtains barely hanging on the wall. Tub had rust stains and no anti-slip strips. HVAC could not keep a set temp. Missing towels, TV remote, extra TP, coffee supplies, etc. No one at desk to correct issues. Gave up after 3 calls and went to bed. Noisy neighbors but no one to complain to. Internet signal weak and kept dropping. Bed was average comfort level but needed another pillow. Breakfast was a joke. At checkout, there still was no one at the desk, so after waiting for 5 minutes, I just left room keys and got on the road. I will never use that place again. The only plus was that I did not see any bugs! We make the trip to this area about once a month and actually paid extra to stay here over the usual place we stay. We should have not wasted the money!
