I stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott to attend the Ohio Renaissance Festival. Our weekend coincided with a soccer tournament so we had a large number of kids staying at the hotel. That is not a problem. I travel for personal pleasure a great deal and have stayed in a hotel where there have been groups of kids for various activities with no problem. However, the kids in this group were unsupervised, loud, allowed to race up and down the hall knocking on peoples doors while the parents sat out in the courtyard drinking, a lot from the looks of the alcohol on the tables. I had kids jumping up and down on the floor above me until after 11 pm the first night. I eventually complained and the poor person on the desk that night had to go up to that room 4 times. I was not the only one in my group who experienced this either. The night manager had relayed to one of the people in our party that they refund a portion of our stay due to our bad experience. Unfortunately, the manager on duty the morning of check out flatly denied that they would be able to do anything other than give us some points. To her credit, she did give me points but they will most likely expire because I will not stay at another Marriott. While the rest of the staff was very pleasant, helpful and understanding, the management seemed to reward the bad behavior of the kids and parents at the expense of at least one very loyal high standing rewards member. I'll go back to staying at Hyatts and Hiltons and earn my rewards points there.

Deceptive pricing practices, beware I booked 3 night stay at this hotel under one rate and they changed/increased the rate for night 2 and night 3 without any communication. I take responsibility for note noticing this earlier but you don't expect this type deception from this type of hotel chain.

I am a Bonvoy Platinum Elite and generally have good experiences at Courtyards around the world. We have visited Miamisburg many times over the years and avoided this place because it looked very run down but recently read it was completely renovated. We arrived late. The gentleman who greeted us was friendly, recognized my elite status and had us in our room quickly. I asked if there was bottled water in the room and his female colleague snapped at me “we have water in the market but you have to buy it!” He intervened and said to just take a couple complementary due to my Platinum status. Good answer. There was a general casualness of the employees which does not bother me but I could not tell who worked there and who was staying there until someone walked behind a counter. The same casualness appeared in the renovations in the property. Everything lacked detail and crispness like the contractors did not care. The same was true for the housekeeping. Nothing was outwardly dirty but the beds looked like they were made by an angry 6 year old. The extreme water saving faucet and shower head made washing and showering a challenge. I saved shaving until I got home over fear of butchering my neck. The beds were comfortable so we slept well. During our 2 day stay, it appears housekeeping replaced the towels while we were gone. There was no other evidence of housekeeping. The hotel offers complimentary coffee in the lobby in the morning and ‘to go’ style breakfast items for purchase. There was nothing outstanding and nothing terrible about this hotel. We might stay there again if the price is right next time visiting.

In past years I have stayed at the Courtyard Dayton South - perhaps 10 times or more - because of convenience to family. At one point I switched to another nearby hotel because the Courtyard was becoming run down, perhaps better said as seedy...... Oh boy -- back to Dayton for the first time in a while and decided to try the same hotel again as it cries "completely remodeled". I bought the hype and found that nothing really had changed -- maybe the seating arrangement in the BISTRO. The facility remains dirty - and shoddy at best and has absolutely no sense of modernity - the entry ways to the rooms are almost black from mold and crud --- a very unwelcome sense that one gets at first glance. The rooms are virtually unchanged -- well there are now body wash, shampoo and conditioner bottles on one wall of the bathtub - I do not want to exaggerate. When I first entered the hotel to check in -- the person at the desk provided what was possibly the worst greeting I have ever received at any hotel anywhere in the world -- hotels in the Former Soviet Union were more welcoming. Apparently I was disturbing him. The hallway and elevator floor had apparently not felt the vibration of a vacuum for some time I checked my final bill - to be honest I did no too so until I returned home a day later - and found that I was charged $11.29 for a cup of coffee and a muffin -- and the coffee is FREE! In summary, I have learned to never stay there again -- ever. Wish those that write the promos for such places did not lie so much in their claims. It is convenient for my needs --cannot say anything more that is positive and I have NOT enjoyed writing this review.

I was here for a wedding and the hotel was full. I arrived at 3pm and the front desk clerk Greg said that my room was not ready. He invited me have seat in the lobby and offered me a complimentary non-alcoholic drink from their convenience store in the lobby. I told him that I am ok, but thank you. He said he would let me know when my room was ready. As he was getting off his shift, he came over to me and told me that my room was available and ready for check in. My room was spotless. Bed was really comfortable. Very Quiet even though they were full. The next morning I came down to check out and grab a quick breakfast - here is how it unfolded: Just an FYI to fellow travelers. Breakfast is not included at Courtyards unless you book a breakfast package through the Marriott website. If you are an Elite member, as Greg explained, upon check in they are offered that option or points. He was so kind and understanding that I had a long drive to Scranton that he had the kitchen staff make me a bagel with butter so I did not have to stop for breakfast. He even remembered me! That is true customer service!

The lack of service at this property is atrocious and indicative of no leadership. Starting with our checkin experience, we had a request for adjoining rooms. I understand fully it is a request and cannot always be accommodated. Where I have an issue is the actions of the checkin clerk. When I inquired if they could accommodate our adjoining request, she said “no we are full”. She starts making our keys and I said “are you not even going to check and see if you can accommodate us” to which she says “the computer assigns the rooms”. This led to a lengthy discussion on customer service, especially for elite members. At this point, I knew she would not accommodate our request because of her bad attitude. I asked is there was an evening shift manager and was told there was no management available until Monday (checked in on a Friday evening). Next service miss was the cleaning of our room. Upon checking in, we see a dirty wash rag hanging from the shower rod and coffee spill on the desk. Another miss in service was engagement over the chat feature. Took 17 minutes for them to reply to my first chat question. Then, upon answering my question, I got a “do not reply as it opens another chat once we answer your question”. My reply was “Thank you”. Lastly, the Bistro had nothing in stock. Essentially you could get coffee and a muffin. None of the normal Bistro meal items were available. Another big service miss. Interior of the property has been recently updated. External building is very dated and not well maintained. This property falls well below the Courtyard standard and the standard of service for any Marriott property. Staff needs service training and likely needs new leadership that drives a culture of service. Highly recommend staying elsewhere if service is important to your stay. This property and staff is for the traveler that wants to do mobile checkin/checkout and never interface with anyone.

The price is reasonable. The room is very neat and clean. I liked the bathroom and shower set up. Staffs are nice and l like the ambience of the hotel. It is also accessible to many good restaurants in the area. It was a great experience at this location, l will definitely stay here again and I’d also recommend it to my friends.

This place was supposed to be fully renovated. It must have been quite the dump. Inside is complete, but outside has a way to go. Even when complete it will be an average property. The staff except for the remarkable woman manning the bistro, are not great. Check-in took forever with staff standing around. No shampoo or body wash in room first morning.

What a great stay at your hotel. Emma was so good and made me feel so great during my week stay and made sure that I was taken care. The hotel was so nice and exceeded my expectations. The staff was great and housekeeping keep was so very nice. It was quiet in my suite. Antuan was great on checking me in. The person was nice. It was a great stay. The hotel sleep was great.
