Hotels Near Metsovo Folk Art Museum (Tossizza Mansion) in Metsovo

We visited the picturesque village of Lingiades on our return trip from vacation. As the distance to our home was very long, I had decided to visit this village, for which I had many informations for his excellent view and rest there for a night. I havem;t booked a room,as the city of Ioannina is very near, If there was not an availability in Lingiades. When I entered the village tired of the long journey (from the island Zakynthos) and under heavy rain the first building I passed was this hotel. So when anout availability and price, the gentle lady offered me a room in a price (100€) higher than I would spend for a night, but the hotel was a very beautiful boutique hotel and i was really tired to look for an other hotel. In the end the hotel was totally worth the cost I paid. The room was dreamy, had an air of 19th century, while the rest areas of the hotel had a modern, but very pleasant architecture. And the view from the room was magnifiscent. The lake, the small island with the village and in the fond the city of Ioannina. And although we could see everything, there was no sound of the city activities. The lady in the reception had warned us that the breakfast was extraordinary. And indeed it was. It wasn’t a buffet breakfast. The ladies of the kitchen entered several times with special dishes. Savory, sweets, pies, jams, eggs in different versions (fried, boiled, omelettes, scrambled), cakes, biscuits, pancaces, fruits, etc,etc, It is not possible to describe the whole menu. But finally we asked them kindly to stop,as we could not consume more. And everything we had tasted bas delicious. I would like to stay at least for a day more, but unfortunately my wife had to work next day. I promised myself to stay there for 3-4 days another time. Unfortunatley in October, when I wanted to book for a night again on return trip (from Peloponess that time), the hotel was fully booked ! The village has at least 2 restaurants, one of them, ”Kukuwagia” (where we ate) is very famous in Ioannina region.

The hotel is brand new, very nicely designed, and in a quiet location - a short drive from the closest town. The wonderful Vasiliki at reception was exceptionally nice, and made our stay absolutely delightful! Nothing was too much for her, and she went out of her way to ensure that we were happy with everything, and was always there with a smile. Breakfast is very nice with local pies, jams and fresh cheese and vegetables. A perfect stay!

Hotel is located in not really interesting area, about 1km from the center. It is very loud area with frequent traffic that made it impossible for us to sleep with windows open. There is no parking around, so you need to find your own spot in streets around. Room was small, a bit too simple, but clean. Bathroom is outdated and it needs some love - especially shower curtains and toilet seat. AC in room is positioned directly above the bed, so it’s very hard to set it up to cool down the hot room with windows closed because of traffic noise, but not to have direct cold air current directed at your head. Breakfast was acceptable, mostly based on frozen pastry baked in oven. There is actually no kitchen, just one small room with ovens, fridge and sliding door hiding the only toilet in lobby/bar area. It was strange using the toilet while you feel the heat and smells from ovens just few feet away from you. Staff was friendly and helpful! If the hotel was 2 star place priced well below the price we payed for it, I wouldn’t write a review this harsh. But since I was expecting 4 star hotel, it was a disappointment.

The decoration quality is very good, the furniture and decoration are all solid wood, and the luxurious lobby is very tasteful. Even if it is affected by the epidemic, there are not many guests, but the rich breakfast still maintains the quality of a five-star hotel.

Let's start from the basics. What you see in the photos do not represent reality. Well done to the photographer who managed to hide how dilapidated the accommodation is. Specifically: The rooms too small, one on top of the other. The rooms are filthy, dust everywhere. The glass in the bathroom door has probably never been cleaned (see attached photo). Closets, dirty. Basin; Her bottom had changed color, bleach is never used, not a single day did we smell anything in bleach or anything at all that reminded us of cleanliness. The building is in a bad condition externally (damaged - paintwork) but also internally as the furniture was battered and had lost its color as well as the walls have been painted in the corridors. The aesthetics of the hotel are also miserable, curtains everywhere for no reason with strange lights that you don't see in the corridors at night. The room has too many lights, which do not turn off individually, they have a central switch. So either you will be squinted by the light or you won't be able to see in front of you. In the shower we found half-finished shampoos from the previous ones that the cleaners had not collected. 3 days in a row, they didn't put me a panosedon and I had to call them at 12 at night to bring it to me. The cleaners don't use a vacuum cleaner. Broom and farasi and holy God. On the last day I went back up to the room after breakfast and was sweating, we had to leave it wide open for 10 minutes to let it dry out in the cold. Ok I get that people sweat when they clean and do chores but not like this guys, we couldn't stop. Balcony; Ok, chairs on the balcony? ok Small table? Never, so you can't sit on a balcony if you want (if you want to sit on a balcony in the stink, cobwebs and dust that has literally never been cleaned). Let's go to breakfast: Breakfast in the basement ( -1 ) at tables for 8 people which were full of crumbs and you will necessarily have to eat breakfast with other strangers at the same table. The food stale and plastic, the only nice thing was the water. Napkins missing, only if you asked. On Monday, we went down half an hour after breakfast had ended because no one had informed us that on weekdays it ends earlier. So we left hungry. Kudos to the photographer as he has amazingly managed to camouflage this shack you call a 4 star hotel. And if they paid us, we wouldn't go again. 200 euros a night for a family of 3, I'd rather burn it than give it to them. It is worth noting that the most important problem of all of these is cleanliness. It is not clean, the cleaners do not clean, they enter your room for 5 minutes, throw 2 sheets and leave. I suggest the management to review the staff they have chosen for the cleanliness of the accommodation. 1 star because I can't put 0. Far from specific

Good choice in Kastraki as close to the monasteries but not crazy busy. The hotel is small and friendly. We had a reasonably large room with a small balcony and decent bathroom. It was clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful. Breakfast was very good with superb coffee and local produce, including fresh pastries. Enough to fuel the walk up the steps to the monasteries and the viewpoints. We stayed for 3 nights and took our time visiting 4 of the monasteries. Most guests seemed to stay only 1 night here. The hotel restaurant, Senses, is more pan-European than the tavernas of the village and made a nice change for dinner. We also had a good quality lunch and pre-dinner cocktails. We appreciated the free gift of wine and the convenience of a fridge and coffee/tea making facilities. Can recommend this hotel and it was a relaxing, convenient place to stay.

During DANA Daniel, we were en route through Greece and our destination was Meteora. The weather conditions to reach our destination forced us to make a detour of approximately 500 km, so we were delayed about 8 hours. We arrived at the hotel very tired and the attention we received was exquisite. I explain this to justify my opinion, which may be a bit subjective, even though I write it a month after the fact. The rooms are correct, the breakfast abundant and varied, and the reception staff fantastic. Their help when returning to Athens allowed us to shorten the return trip by more than 4 hours. I think it is a good hotel to get closer to appreciating the beauty of Meteora.

Well, perhaps I'm not fair using the word ”they” in the title, since every single member of the hotel stuff, have been extremely polite. The girls in the spa, the technician, the receptionists, everybody: They have been amazing. So, the destruction, was one man's work only: the hotel owner's, himself. And of course, his guidelines-directions, that the hotel is following, should be held responsible also. I will try to be comprehensive, because if I right in detail everything that happened, I will not be over writing until...tomorrow. I had booked an executive suite for me and my wife for our wedding anniversary (3 nights). The room, costing itself 200€ per night, had a problem with heating: no matter what we tried, the temperature would not rise above 21 degress celsius during our first night (anniversary night). Hotel stuff was informed. Wasn't able to fix this also. When we woke up the next morning, and the heating was operating the whole night, the problem remained. I asked if we could switch to another room with no heating problem. Two different hotel employees, had confirmed already that there was a problem with the heating of my initial room. The receptionist agreed to meet my demand and offered us the chance to switch to the junior suite. But, when I asked how much should I pay, she said that we would have to pay THE SAME price, just like if I was staying in the executive suite , for 3 nights. I responded that this is non-sense, and she replied that she notifies us about the decision the hotel owner himself had made. I requested to see him. And request was granted. Comprehensively: I said that 1) It is non-sense to ask us to pay for the junior suite the same price to the executive suite, which is, among others, 22 square metres larger as a room, especially since the problem was at THEIR end. We already have suffered enough with all this of course, and he should consider this also and leave us transfer to junior suite in peace, for God's shake. He replied in an amazingly rude, hostile and careless manner that :there was no problem with my initial room. The heating system is controlled centrally by the hotel. So I can't modify the temperature myself, because, what if I wanted to reach 30 degrees celsius in my room? So the problem is mine and it is my choice to change room. So I have to pay the whole initial booking, which concerns 3 nights in an executive suite. After alI, I chose their hotel to come, the didn't force me to. I COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EARS. And I wouldn't believe that this could happen in a 5 star hotel in my country. I said that, if so, then 1) Why this is not refered in your website? That we have to stay ”cool” in a winter destination like Zagorohoria and the heating is modified centrally depending on the preferences of the person in the reception? 2) Why then, two different employees of yours confirmed that there is a problem with the room? And why your employees didn't tell me that the heating is controlled
