Fairfield Inn & Suites Meridian

Nightmare night! We got a handicap room instead of our regular king reservation. The ceiling had peeling water damage and the room appeared clean but musty. I have an allergy to mold and my wife has asthma. I took a shower in the tiny handicap shower and we had to use multiple towels trying to keep the water from running out of the bathroom because the floor is sloped incorrectly. After 30 minutes in the room my eyes were red and itchy and we knew we had to get out of the room. The staff were very nice and understanding and indicated they had experienced other flooding issues. They had no alternate rooms available but the staff was kind enough to get us a comp room at another Marriott property downtown. Management is obviously ignoring water damages which will only make issues with mold worse and worse.

I have stayed here three times in the past and was surprised when I read the negative reviews. I had a free night so we decided to take a chance and I am glad we did. The check in was quick and easy, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable, My only complaint was that the AC was difficult to regulate but really not a problem. The breakfast was typical FFI but enough to get us on the road. I would stay her again.

Friendly staff but not clean! Bathroom shower was covered in pink mold, everywhere. Shower curtain needed ro be replaced...months ago! Additionally, lots of short, black hair was found all over. No one in our party has short or black hair. There was a whistle blowing train that went by the hotel several times during the night. The inroom HVAC was very noisy so sleep was not our friend. The breakfast was sparce. No peanut butter. No oatmeal. No Greek yogurt. No non-dairy milk. All of which have been available at previous Fairfields. Will not stay at this location in future. Do not recomnend.

I’m shocked to see this with a 4.5 star rating! I noticed nothing in this area on I-59 has great reviews, but figured at 4.5 stars, it couldn’t be THAT bad. Wrong. The room has a strong musty smell immediately and the A/C is a constant loud rattle, which is ancient and doesn’t remove the humidity so the sheets feel slightly damp. The fridge doesn’t work (I checked the plug and the knob, both were on). If you have allergies, steer clear. My poor son will be suffering from this one upon wake up, but it’s late and we’re on a 13 hour road trip… so we are making do in this dump for the night. As Titanium Elite members, I’m shocked this is listed under Marriott name. The only upside so far is the beds are decently soft and despite the old feeling that just makes you feel like you’re in a dirty room since everything is ancient and worn, it’s not actually visibly dirty like it’s not properly cleaned.

stopped here overnight on our way to Florida. Good location for travelers. Crazy that you just come off of the interstate and the hotel is nestled into woods. Such a cozy feeling. Very large room. Beds were extremely comfortable and the breakfast was fantastic. Great way to get started on our trip.

We stayed overnight to visit extended family while driving on I-20. We arrived early, were allowed to check in immediately, and received an upgrade from a king room to a king suite on the 4th floor (my husband has Titanium status). At first I was concerned about noise, because our suite was right next to the elevator, but we never heard any noise from it. Everything in our suite worked. The bed was comfortable. The sofa was old and stained but still comfortable to sit on. There was a lot of space. The suite & bathroom both appeared clean but worn. At first I thought the bathroom was dirty, but upon closer examination, I realized it just needs a little touch up on grouting. This hotel could use a serious update, but it’s still a good choice if you are traveling through Meridian on I-20. I was able to work out safely using a treadmill in the fitness center. Breakfast was free & actually better than we expected. I was impressed that hot, fresh coffee was available at 5 am on a Saturday morning! Breakfast was ready early and included many options, such as fresh apples, eggs, oatmeal, grits. Employees were all kind but a little reserved, which is fine. Overall, we left very pleased with our experience and are planning to stay at the Fairfield next time we are in Meridian.

While the property is a bit dated, it’s still in decent shape. Check-in was easy, the room was clean, and the bed comfortable. The HVAC system was a bit loud and I just shut it off for my stay. The most annoying was the shower, while there is plenty of water pressure the shower head was so crusted with calcium you got a trickle. IMHO there is no doubt housekeeping could have reported this as it had been like this for quite some time. The only saving grace was when I checked out and let the front desk know, she immediately called maintenance and engaged them to fix the issue. This proactive move is the reason I gave them a better rating than I had planned.

The room was clean, comfy, and quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful. One of the reasons we booked here is because they have a pool and we wanted the kids to have a chance to stretch and play after a long drive. HOWEVER the indoor pool was not heated and was very cold! We couldn't stay in it long, and if we had known would have stayed elsewhere.

Hotel a little dated but the location is good, front staff courteous, good water pressure, good size bathroom with nice towels and all amenities except no cream rinse , room clean, beds and bedding were good, complimentary breakfast acceptable. I would suggest highest floor because we were on 2nd floor and could hear stomping around above us. Desk lamp had no bulb but I’m sure if we had called we could have gotten one. All in all we had an acceptable stay.
