Hostess was gracious and delightful. The food was delicious. Pool was refreshing and clean. Outdoor kitchen was a nice touch.

The grounds of the property were beautiful. The room however had a horrible bed. There was a fridge in the room but no glasses to drink from. This property was close to other houses with dogs. The dogs were barking most of the night.

Pretty garden hotel
We were warmly welcomed to this pretty hotel set on a hill lush with trees and flowering plants. The pool is inviting and breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed a beautiful drive to Atenes along a good road (Route 3 through San Mateo) from the west, and it was an easy shot to SJO airport the next day. We had a delicious traditional Costa Rican dinner at El Fogon Campesino. Only caveat might be for someone who craves total silence. As in many places in Costa Rica, bird and animal sounds abound in the early morning! Atenes is famous for its climate, and we were very comfortable, even wanted a light wrap in the evening.

Das Eden liegt sehr ruhig etwas ausserhalb des Kleinstädtchens Atenas. Vom Flughafen San José ist es in kurzer Zeit erreichbar (ohne Stau in 35 Minuten) und eignet sich deshalb hervorragend als erster/letzter Zwischenstopp auf der Fahrt zur/von der Pazifikküste - nur eine Nacht zu bleiben, wäre aber wirklich schade! Der Garten mit kleinem Pool und Gemeinschaftsterrasse mit bequemer Hängematte ist traumhaft und der persönliche Service herausragend. Der Manager Ernesto stand uns jederzeit mit Rat und Tat zur Verfügung (z.B. beim Arrangieren des Covid-Tests) und wir wurden jeden Morgen mit einem herrlichen Frühstück auf der Terrasse verwöhnt. Das Appartement mit Küche ist zwar nicht besonders modern eingerichtet, aber sehr geräumig und mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht und verfügt über eine grosse Terrasse, umgeben vom üppigen Garten. Im Städtchen Atenas findet man viele Restaurants und auch sonst alles für den täglichen Bedarf, in der Umgebung kann man vieles unternehmen (z.B. El Toledo Coffee Tour).

Thank you for you services. We arrived late in the evning due to a land slide on the High Way 8 hours in traffic and where welcomed when we arrived. Humble staff and a very green area many many plants and trees. Would need a TV next year I hope to see you all next year.
