The hotel itself is in need of some updating as some of the rooms are looking very tired but having said that I found the staff especially the receptionists very delightful (Ceinwen) was outstanding and also (did not catch her name) but she came to my rescue and set up my TV for match of the day(again she also had a great sense of humour) so thanks to the staff my stay was made much more enjoyable😜😜 Thank you

Stunning sea views overlooking Menai Straits and Snowdonia mountain range. Centrally located in Historic Beaumaris on the beautiful isle of Anglesey. Reception and breakfast staff were excellent. Breakfasts were generous and freshly cooked. Evening staff also very good. The menus and food were delicious on the three nights we stayed. Especially the seafood and roast lamb. As it was my birthday we booked the beautiful Victoria suite room 104. Best in the hotel with a huge 3 bay window overlooking the sea. The antique style furniture was elegant and the sleigh bed accommodated my tall hubby. A beautiful oriental rug with a dainty chaise , chandelier , pretty seating and quality drapes and original shutters made the room cosy and elegant. Heating was good. Bathroom was vintage style but cracked sink was a shame. Large luxurious roll top bath. Self contained shower but shower curtain is not ideal for a modern bathroom. Plenty of towels and toiletries. In general the ambience of the hotel was traditional many lounges to choose from and relax in. Food served throughout the day. We especially appreciated the lift access to the bedrooms. Some of the decor was a little tired but new owners are refurbing as they go. Hope they don’t modernise it and spoil the traditional atmosphere and comforts. Special offers are worth a look. We had a wonderful 3 night break and would recommend the hotel.

Arrived at 4pm. Place all locked up. Only open at 5pm. Room was smalll not clean. Dirty carpet broken toilet seat. .. torn bedding. Room not visited by cleaner in the 2 days we were there. Hence no top up on tea bags or coffee. The worst was there was only 1 toilet roll. We had to buy some on second day. No hot water for a morning shave. Nobody around till 5pm each day Came back fist evening to find pub shut before 10 pm. Took 15 mins to get inside as we were not told entrance was up fire escape. Overall a poor experience..

Bad place, scruffy and full of chav locals. Chav bar staff and a bad pub that looked scruffy and unkempt. We asked for the best pub when we got in the taxi, landlord must be his sister. Back outside area was a wasteland and they had three real ale pumps that were all out of stock. Give it a miss.

On arrival we tried to get into our accommodation but found that it was all locked up and no one around. We rang through to the contact we had who said it’s only just 3pm (check-in time) someone will be there soon, after a 6 hr drive we were frustrated to have to wait another half hour. A lady arrived and opened up, just about explained where rooms were situated and how to use private access when pub was shut with no enthusiasm or friendliness. We went to room which, was as expected, small but suffice for 2 nights. Room was not exactly welcoming and it appeared that the carpet had not been cleaned for some time. Bed linen was clean which was nice, bathroom was clean and appeared to be fairly new. Tried to make a coffee in room but think it must have been there for ages as it was solid in the sachet. Went down to pub to get a drink and decided against it as the pub looked to be similar to the rooms, I.e not clean. Staying in a small establishment we were expecting to be treated a little better. There was absolutely no food available and not even coffee from the bar…. In summary we would not recommend The Bulkeley

We stayed overnight on the way to the ferry in October. There was no food available , no evening meal, no breakfast ( why advertise both ?)we could not use the car park , which still contained last year's dead Christmas tree . The room was filthy and had not been cleaned , no light in the shower the bedside lights didn't work fitments were hanging off the walls, there was a packet of cigarettes in the bedside drawer
