El Patio Courtyard House

Fantastic week-long stay at El Patio. Incredible hospitality by Ahmed. Hasna’s breakfasts were fit for a king; her omelettes are scrumptious. Spotlessly clean, AC in my room worked flawlessly (got up to 97F outside). Location is wonderfully quiet. Two blocks up and you’re in the heart of the shopping area.

Such a beautiful guesthouse. A real treat to stay here. Wonderfully decorated - so much to look at! We received a very warm welcome from the kind, helpful host. The beds are comfortable, the breakfast delicious. A lot of care has been put into creating this environment and a lot of care has been put into the service. We were very well looked after.

Our stay at El Patio Courtyard House was truly exceptional and a highlight of our time in Tunisia. Ahmed was an amazing host—warm, attentive, and incredibly responsive from start to finish. We arrived very late, and he personally waited up to make sure we arrived safely and were comfortable, which immediately made us feel welcomed and cared for. The breakfast was amazing—fresh, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared. It set the tone for each day and added to the overall experience of the stay. The vibe of the house was exactly what we were hoping for in Tunisia: authentic, peaceful, and full of character. The space was super clean, very private, and beautifully maintained. Being located in the heart of the city made everything incredibly convenient, with easy access to local sights, food, and culture—yet the house itself felt like a quiet retreat. If you’re looking for a place that combines comfort, authenticity, and outstanding hospitality, El Patio Courtyard House is it. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Tunisia.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Ahmed was brilliant and even brought us breakfast the evening before as he knew we had to be up early for our flight home the next morning.

The horel manager Ahmed was very helpful and arranged transport to and from the airport. He was friendly and promptly addressed any questions we had. The breakfast every morning was wonderful. The hotel is beautifully decorated and comfortable.

Amazing hotel. Don’t let the neighborhood scare you. Super friendly people. The room, food, ac, shower, everything fabulous. Ahmed was so friendly and helpful. So close to marketplace can spend hours walking. I’ve stayed in nice places around world. Excellent property.

We visited Tunis for 2 nights, after spending 2 weeks in Morocco. There were frequent comparisons with our previous country, and we found that we preferred our Tunisia meals to our Moroccan – and that is high praise, because our meals in Morocco were good. Tunisian cooking had more heat, more spice. The city of Tunis was gritty, but it featured French architectural surprises, WWII history and a multitude of Mosques. The medina by day was a burst of color and scent, but not a good option for nighttime walking. Our accommodation at El Patio Courtyard House Tunis was excellent. The suite was comfortable and well-appointed, with air conditioning that worked well. It was peaceful and cozy inside El Patio, although there is no getting away from a call-to-prayer when it booms throughout the stone streets. The homemade breakfasts at El Patio were delicious. Our host Ahmed worked hard to make sure we had what we needed, including a driver to take us on a personal tour of Carthage. Mr. Adel took us to all the important points in this ancient city.

Great place, need to walk to it from main road. Yummy free breakfast, clean, safe, laundry, pleasant staff, close to zeytunia mosque and souk and walkable to downtown. A true tunis experience
