Hotels Near Mason-Rivera Sculpture Garden & Art Gallery in McMinnville

We were looking for a reasonable, clean, and quiet place to stay when we visited Oregon for our first time, and this hotel on paper was a GREAT fit! But, once we arrived our experience was more than we expected ”on paper”. The continental breakfast was AMAZING, as breakfast is my favorite meal on vacation, and typically we end up having to find local cafes. But, this hotel's breakfast was fantastic, and the friendly staff was even better, so much so that we never ventured out all week. The only issue we ran into was there is a gas station on the North side of the hotel that was somewhat loud in the evening, but to be fair it was the 4th of July. Finally, once we arrived home we very quickly determined that we had forgotten a few items in our room. After contacting the hotel the General Manager, Andrea, helped locate our missing items and promptly returned them to us! This kind experience of making sure their guests are COMPLETLEY taken care of was over the top for us, thank you AGAIN Andrea!! We would definitely return to this location the next time we are in town!

This is our 4th or 5th time here, in connection with the annual International Pinot Noir Celebration. The place has gone downhill more than a skier on a Whistler Mtn. Black Star run. From start to finish this has been a calamity. On making reservations (a year ago!), we specifically asked for a large room, preferably on the first floor, near the elevator. On arriving we were met by what looked to be a 12-year old clerk, who told us our room had a Jacuzzi tub and was at the far, far (far) end of the hallway on the second floor. Thanks, but no thanks. I need to be close to the elevator. OK! We were assigned a room half-way down the hall, one of the smallest in the place. The young clerk, by the way, appeared to be the owner’s 12-year old great-granddaughter. OK! So we just now returned to our mini-room from the day’s IPNC activities (around 3:30 p.m.). The room’s untouched — the bed’s unmade, the damp towels where we left them, the…you get the idea. So…”Please have housekeeping clean the room.” “No!”, said the owner’s great-grand-daughter. “Unless you ask, your room is only cleaned every three days.” Unless you ask! You’re kidding! Your never told us! Every three days? Sort of like a State homeless encampment or a junior college dorm? Don’t even think of this joint! Paper cups in the bathroom. Old, surplus Soviet army T.P. Inedible “breakfast” gruel. Incompetent front desk. Clean room every three days. Who could ask for anything more? Don’t even think of this joint!

I got my favorite room near the elevator again! Thanks to the nice manager lady, she was helpful and sweet as usual. I also got to meet the new front desk man /employee in the morning so that was great. Thanks again for having a room available, God bless!!!!
