Mbeya Hotel

Although food is good at this hotel there is no proper supervision and staff behaves arrogantly. I would say it is better to stay in other hotel as these guys behave like monopoly Worst/terrible staff especially restaurant management

We rented the two room suite - the most expensive room. I took a large crawling millipede out of shower before my family saw it but then they came in and saw the dead bugs all Over the floor and squealed. Even the night manager took pictures of the dirty floor as he swept up the mostly dead arthropods it was so bad. The lamp next to the bed and power ***** also didn’t work. So cleanliness and maintenance are not really a high point at this old hotel - but the traffic noise is! You can hear it most the night. Then in mid check out in the morning another guest complained that his bill wasn’t prepared as he asked and put my checkout on hold while he checked out - nice - but sort of a funny - I asked if I had to pay extra for all the millipedes….. No offer of a discount….

This Indian run hotel has AMAZING INDIAN FOOD. As someone who loves Indian food this place has to be up there for quality, tasty, authentic Indian food. If it lets itself down then it’s because you have to wait A VERY LONG TIME for your food! You need to expect a minimum of 1 hour wait from point of making your order! However, the food is amazing! And worth the wait. The hotel is quite and away from any Traffic noise which is a huge plus. The beds are very comfortable, sheets clean and there always seems to be plenty of hot water. The rooms are basic by European standards but clean, air conditioned and have mosquito nets over the bed. They provide a complimentary tooth brush, toothpaste and soap. Free Wi-Fi throughout but was a little sketchy in my room but I was possibly furthest away from reception. In the room there is a desk, wardrobe, tv and personal fridge and a small bottle of complimentary water is provided each day which is great as there are no tea or coffee making facilities in your room. Ahh, coffee. If you are a coffee lover like me and expected good coffee in Africa think again! Instant coffee only! This place would be so good with its amazing Indian food if it had a decent coffee machine for breakfast in the mornings. Breakfast is basic but a good omelette and toast is all I need and they do that no problem. All in all great value for money. Basic but clean. Slow service but amazing food and most importantly great hospitable owners too. Lovely people. I will be coming back!

Very Good Indian Food.😊 Friendly Staff😊 Small Old Rooms😐 Good Cleanliness 😊 Dated Hotel policy of charging 2.5% extra for card payment. Extremely frustrating. 😡😡🤬🤬 Overall the only option in town to get Indian food.
