Wonderful experience from start to finish. The check in process was easy and the resort went out of their way to satisfy. The accommodations were superior with comfortable beds and the kitchen had all we could want. Highly recommend for a peaceful getaway. We will be back. Tricia

I stayed in the cheapest motel room, which is fairly small and tight. It was spotless, the bed great, fully updated and current, with A/C. My one complaint is there is no place to sit. The bed is high and there is a worthless tall chest of drawers in the corner. A little juggling could provide room for at least a straight chair or two and a small table. There is a ceiling light in the corner next to the door, like it was intended to be over a spot to sit and read. There is no place to eat breakfast on that end of the island, which the hotel has attempted to cope a bit with by providing a couple muffins in the refrigerator, a nice touch. There is no place to lock a bike with a U lock, but they let me put my bike in the lobby overnight.

The hospitality was exceptional! The facilities were excellent! The location was so wonderful that it was difficult to leave! When we had a special request and an additional need, the staff was incredibly accommodating. The villa was perfect for the four of us (2 couples) and we hope to return!

Four of us stopped here to have lunch on the patio and watch the ocean world go by. Our server was very friendly and did a great job in serving us. I ordered the Bibimbap. It was delicious, but the meat had some grizzle in it and generally the pieces were tough. My friend order Fish and Chips which he enjoyed. The ladies had a salmon sandwich which they both liked. A nice spot.

I wanted to just get away from everything and everyone - and boy, did this place fit the bill! I stayed in one of their cabins (more of a chalet really in that it was a nice taste of luxury with a full kitchen and bathroom, TV, FP etc.) and sat through the days with the living room doors wide open to the view of the stunning seascape. The place was nicely outfitted with coffees, hot chocolate and tea (bring your own spices, oils etc. for cooking) and I wanted for nothing, although there are grocery markets on the island. All in all it was quiet, serene and from the warm welcome to my reluctant good-bye, I made enough memories and took enough stunning pictures, to warrant a most definite return! Thank you Janice and everyone at Mayne Island Resort.

We stayed in an oceanfront cottage for 5 days during the last week of May, 2024. Upon checking in we were met by the owners, Janice and Darryl, who are extremely helpful and sincere in providing an environment/stay that will exceed your expectations. The cottage was very clean and kitchen well appointed with everything you would need if you wanted to do all your meals there. The cottage also had a BBQ for your private use. We chose to have breakfast at the cottage and explore Mayne Island for lunches. Dinner at the bistro was very good, with a nice selection of options which are reasonably priced. Tried several and not disappointed with any. The view is spectacular, with easy access to the beach for walking in either direction. It was very peaceful and quiet, both during the day and night, perfect for relaxing. I definitely will be returning to this gem of spot in the South Gulf Islands.

We arrived on Thursday afternoon with two rooms booked in the resort. We were aware that there are stairs leading up to the hotel rooms, but did not expect my mother to have such a hard time. When the owners Janice and Darryl saw her struggle, they step in and insisted that we stay in their accessible cottage. We greatly appreciated their compassion and hospitality and made our stay comfortable. We also enjoyed a delicious meal at the Bistro/Pub. We will stay here again and let everyone know how wonderful the owners and the resort are. With Gratitude. Shona and Dean Powers

We stayed at Mayne Island Resort in October 2022. The experience was mixed, with reception in particular being poor. The setting was, and of course is, excellent. We found out that the resort has been with new owners for the last six weeks (as of mid April 2024), and they intend to make quite a few improvements. This was already working out - the lady in reception was polite, friendly, helpful and, unlike last time, actual there when we arrived to check in. We stayed in the 'economy' room, 201, which is above the restaurant area. There was a little from noise from the restaurant while it was open, but this had stopped by our (early) bedtime. This time around, we didn't use the restaurant. We were initially put off the swimming pool by the odd color of the water, but this turned out to be due to it being rainwater, which had some pollen in it. We were assured that it was perfectly clean. We did use the hot tub and steam room, both were in good condition. The room was clean, small but not too small, with limited storage but otherwise well provisioned, including kettle, coffee machine, and a fridge pre stocked with bottled water and two tasty muffins. It was described as 'partial' see view, but if it had said full see view I wouldn't have disagreed. This room is slated to be the first to undergo reservations, so much of the above will soon be irrelevant. Outside, the grounds are pleasant, with access to the beach and from there, some trails. Oddly, when coming off the beach, there's a sign saying that only people staying in the suites should proceed - that needs to be changed to 'resort guests', as elsewhere. One further change is that the resort no longer requires a two night minimum stay. Overall, our stay was very enjoyable, it it sounds as if things may get better!

We stayed in cottage 105. Bed was super comfortable, the view was beautiful. Full waterfront view. We were able to do some weather watching , one night we had lightning which was amazing . The suite was clean , had a nice gas fireplace. We were alittle disappointed that they didn't have an oven , microwave and stove top only . They also had a hottub , pool , and gym in a separate building which was nice. The restaurant on the premises was also very good. Be aware that the grocery store on the island is very expensive, your better off bringing your own groceries . The island is small but good for kayaking, hiking, biking , fishing , crabbing, and relaxing . We were told the kayak rentals on the resort was not in operation . We definitely enjoyed our stay.
