Homewood Suites by Hilton Kansas City - Airport

Stayed at this location for our 7th wedding anniversary and catching a Chiefs game. The room was nice but seems to maybe not have been used in a while or the housekeeping isn't up to par with what I am normally used to at a Hilton location. There was cobwebs in places, dead bugs on the floor and in lamps, and lots of dust on sprinkler heads, floorboards, door flames, and vents. My wife is allergic to dust so this caused a problem. I went down to the counter to tell the person there about the dust and for some extra towels. They didn't seem at all concerned about the dust and told me they would bring up some towels. The towels never showed up. I went down the following day to request towels again and told them I would be back to pick them up at the counter. They proceeded to drop them off at our room where they interrupted my wife getting ready. Some other things to note is the outdoor pool was closed for the season (understandably but it was in the 80's the time we were there) and there was chicken bones sitting on one of the tables in the courtyard that sat for a whole day. The rest of my vacation was great with the entertainment, shopping and food but the hotel was the one downside to it.

Room was ok. It just did not feel clean. There was hair on bathroom floor and there were dirty dishes in the drawer. I guess you have to have that much high expectations if you’re paying more than $200 a night. Customer service was not rude but they’re not nice either when you request help.

We can’t say enough positive things about this Homewood Suites! The cleanliness, the location, the staff and their hospitality…all exceptional! My husband and I stayed here for 2 weeks, not having an exact end date. They were very accommodating. We had a newborn and they were very understanding about not coming in to clean our room…instead brought us towels daily, arranged trash pick up outside our door and checked in with us regularly to see if there was anything else we needed. Thomas and Lisa even bought our son a Christmas present, as we were there through both holidays, Christmas and New Year’s. ♥️ Everyone went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Very pleased with our stay. Had a free room so was able to spend a little more than usual and picked this property (had a good experience at a nearby location but ha one thing was off so I didn't want to chance that with gf). Not a ton of traffic in this area of North KC/St. Joe is great. Not far from the airport and many planes flew over at night. I dug that. It's an extended stay place and our suite was sweet. Walk into full-size fridge and nice stovetop and microwave we never needed. A small "living room" area with couch and tv, then doors that could be closed to a king-sized bed with another tv. Big closet, pretty big bathroom. One small stain on sheets that appeared to be just that...a stain so not too worried. Bed curtain thing had some ickier stuff that looked like maybe could be cleaned. We just tucked it under the mattress. Bathroom and all else looked clean. Shower had good hot water and sufficient pressure. I would def stay here again. Did not try breakfast, especially with a Waffle House about a half-mile away, which was one of the draws I knew from staying in area before. We were in town for a comedy show at Improve at Zona Rosa, which is a great area to walk about 2-3 miles from this property.

Spent the night here before a morning flight. Friendly staff upon arrival. Rooms very clean. Various close by options for dining, if needed. Breakfast at facility had lots of variety. Again, friendly staff at checkout. Would recommend.

I’m not sure who had a four star experience but we sure did not. Attached are pictures of the living room lamp. Dust bunnies and literal bugs in the lamp shade hanging over the couch. The first night there were stains on the mattress topper on the pullout bed my sister had to sleep on. She went downstairs to get another and the front desk staff was nice enough to come and take the old one off to replace it and bring a new one. The other picture is some mysterious drippings from the door in the bathroom. The floor is so dirty our feet are turning black just walking around. Bathroom counter was dusty upon placing my toothbrush on it. The tv is supposed to have Chromecasting ability that prompted my husband to restart his phone multiple times and still did not work at all so they might as well not advertise they have that. On our second afternoon there we came back to our room around 2pm and we still did not have any fresh towels or new trash bags because the one living trash can was already full between 3 adults and a toddler staying in the room. The only thing going for it is it’s seemingly updated and modern furniture. At first glance everything looks very nice and the staff were very nice just doesn’t look like they enforce their cleaning staff to do their job.

The interaction with staff was perfect, well trained and polite. Location was a quick 5 minutes to the airport. My bathroom was one of the dirtiest I have seen in 25+ years of business travel. It was not cleaned, at all, from the last guest.

Nice, up-to-date all suites hotel, very near the Kansas City (MCI) International Airport. Close to shopping areas, restaurants and grocery stores. Lots of perks for the money. Highly recommend this hotel and location!!
