Not sure if it was just my room or the entire hotel, but this hotel was disgusting. We've stayed at various Residence Inns for months at a time, as a military family, but over the years I have noticed they have not been given much attention. This particular one was really bad. The room smelled of mold (carpet??), the were holes in the carpet, mold in the shower, torn shower curtain and there was only ONE pot in the kitchen to cook with! They wanted to charge me $150 pet fee (which was the highest I have ever been charged for a pet... for ONE NIGHT). My daughter and I did not feel comfortable in this room, I was coughing like crazy (mold) and we ended up getting up early and continuing earlier than planned on our road trip. I didn't even like my dog staying at this hotel, it was that bad. The desk clerk mentioned they have short staff and the rooms only get "freshened up" every other day or three... which, it shows! I will no longer stay at Residence Inns and will let our military family and friends know this, as well. BTW, we are also lifetime gold members of Marriott. When I tried to email Marriott to tell of my concerns, I received a quick email with a customer number on it saying someone will get back to me. It's been five days and nobody has tried to contact me.
