"This review is for the hotels restaurant. The food and table service at this restaurant were absolutely fine. The reason for my low rating is because even though smoking in restaurants in The Maldives is prohibited, this restaurant allowed a customer to smoke whilst I was eating my meal. What made it worse is that they have a no smoking sign in the restaurant and the person smoking was sat literally one metre in front of it. I did raise this with staff and they said it didn't matter because the restaurant was outside. However as stated, smoking is prohibited in restaurants and the man was smoking in the restaurant within a metre of the no smoking sign. I would not return to this restaurant purely based on the fact that they do not abide by the laws, have no care for their non smoking customers and ignore their own rules (allowing a customer to smoke next to a no smoking sign)."

"The guesthouses on the island offer excellent service. They'll pick you up in a tricycle when you arrive, and it's only a five-minute walk from the pier. The rooms are relatively new, and the breakfast is quite good. It's excellent value for money."

"If you want an authentic Maldivian experience then this place must not be missed. The staff at the Aquatic go above and beyond to arrange trips, speedboat transfers and anything else you could want. The room had all you needed for a pleasant stay, a comfy bed, TV, fridge, coffee making facilities and most important fabulous air con. You could have continental breakfast or the local option which was a tuna based dish. Our favourite place to eat in the evening was Koba Chai cafe and bistro which had a fantastic selection of local and international food available which was delicious."

"This is the best guesthouse in Mathiveri: beautiful, spotlessly clean, excellent food, and a great location (10 meters from Bikini Beach). Any request is met by the entire staff, who are always super kind and helpful. I had a problem with my cell phone, and the owner fixed it in a day. Without his help, my phone would have been out of order for the entire vacation. I loved Zaahee, a young local man, a hard worker, always smiling and super kind, who, along with Anees, is always ready to share with any nosy tourist's curiosity about the local lifestyle with a smile. The Nepalese chef prepares excellent dinners, even the pasta was delicious (coming from an Italian who loves cooking and eating, that's double the word). In short, I felt welcomed and pampered by this great family and I recommend it to everyone. Thank you so much, guys, you helped make my vacation perfect!"
