Radha Cottage

Radha's Cottage is a lovely retreat, very well located at the end of the road in Matheran. It's a simple place, furnished largely with period furniture. The food is outstanding - the best I've had in 6 weeks of traveling in India. For those who are unfamiliar with Matheran as I was, a couple pieces of information: - The "toy train" runs very infrequently. Be sure to get a schedule if you plan to take it from the parking. - It's a 4.5km walk from the train station near the parking to Radha's. Don't believe the stationmaster if he tells you it's a 20 minute walk, it's an hour's walk. - It's still another 1.5km from the train station in the village to Radha's. If you've got a bag it's probably a good idea to get some help from a porter. - Sometimes the electricity goes out. When we stayed, these outages were brief, just a minute or 2. - Sometimes the water in the bathroom is dark brown. This surprised us one morning. It's dirt, and cleared during the course of the day.

Very nice resort away from the market. It is covered in good forest area so you feel a lot of temperature difference between the market area and when you are at Radha Cottage. I loved the rooms because they were very clean and well kept. The food is delicious no doubt in that. I already knew that the food will be the best because I read all the reviews about their maharashtrian cuisine. Loved the ambiance of the entire property. They have taken care of the activities like they have indoor play area and good library with good books to read. And in the peaceful climate you can read a lot. I want to thank Santa, who was always there to help us.

It was horrible experience with property staff is very rude and unprofessional.. I was expecting good service but got done.. rooms was very dirty and fungal in the room ... Food was worst.. I will not recommend this property my hole life ... Please ignore if you are booking this property

The food is very homely and nicely cooked, I felt at home. The host is very nice and very friendly. Nice place to chill and enjoy, in between nature. The sunset point is near the cottage and hence you can just walk there in the morning and enjoy the sunset

Excellent stay experience. Awesome food and food variety. Truly complete package for friends and family stay. Magnificent garden surrounding. Magical ambience at night.  Sort of Vintage setup gives Coozy Feel. One of the best place I have seen. Totally worth to stay and enjoy.

Lovely ambience. Beautiful and well maintained property. Radha Heritage cottage is a perfect choice for family, friends and even solo holidays. Excellent food and a very sweet host (Radha)to make u feel comfortable. Rooms, decor and nature goes together like a melody. I will keep visiting this place again and again.

I came across Radha Cottage through TripAdvisor, I generally book all the places through TripAdvisor only(my trusted site during all vacations). From the reviews I knew that this is the right place to celebrate my 1st anniversary. Rooms: We stayed in the Heritage Room Rose Cottage, room no. 105, which was the best room suggested by Radha for our anniversary. The room was clean. The bathrooms were hygienic and the rooms smelled very nice. The bedsheets and duvets were also very clean. 5 stars for room. Food: 100 stars for food it was that good! Super duper delicious food I had. Right from there spicy theecha to the sweet puran poli everything was superb. Loved it!! Location: 1km from the crowded matheran city, this was the right place which I was looking forward to stay. So peaceful! Surrounded by forest. IT IS THE BEST PART THAT IT IS AWAY FROM THE MARKET. Narendra More, Santosh, Ambu, Santa, Arif, and if I have missed some names then please know that this review is only for you guys!! You deserve it! You made my first anniversary memorable and I am grateful for that. Will be coming soon to meet you all and will be recommending your place to others for sure! As a solo traveler, I was hoping for a peaceful and hassle-free stay at Radha Cottage, but it fell short in every way. The check-in was confusing and unorganized, and the room I was given was poorly maintained—dusty with a damp smell that made it uncomfortable. The Wi-Fi was practically unusable, making it difficult to stay connected, and the limited food options were disappointing, with bland and overpriced meals. There was little sense of security or service tailored to solo guests, and requests for assistance were met with indifference. The resort’s charm felt like a facade hiding its neglect, and unfortunately, it didn’t deliver the relaxing retreat I was hoping for.
