The hotel was a little dated but nice, quite out of the way of anything which made it difficult for us to get to and from the stadium.
Service was good, breakfast was lovely

Went for lunch and not to stay. The restaurant area is fairly small and was completely empty when we arrived so not a lot of atmosphere. The happy, smiling waitress took the order and was quite chatty. Only one draught beer (and some lagers) which looked and tasted more like a lager. The food was reasonable without being outstanding and the overall service was fine.

Cooked breakfast not available until 8.30, we had to leave before then. Towels like cardboard, l stood mine up. Shower has water saving device on that makes it almost pointless. I gave up. Milk portions curdled when used. No car park to speak of, you pack on the driveway. Won’t be booking there again. On a plus it has a full size snooker table

Love this place hidden gem. The staff can’t do enough for you, brilliant garden area the kids loved it and had an amazing time playing on the bouncy castle. All had the best home cooked meals will definitely be returning felt so welcome and loved the atmosphere.

Came here for a bit of a break and for some food. It was OK until the staffs kids were crawling all over the chairs when people were trying to eat - plus the staff knew as they came out and seen it happening yet said nothing to them about it or told them to stop.... not my idea of a relaxing atmosphere! Food wasn't as expected, the pie was really a pie just meat with a pastry lid which was soggy and the parmesan was just pure water when cutting through it.

No shower gel; watered down hand soap; breakfast at too late a time for any needing to be out by 9am to actually enjoy;

Lovely stop over in this hotel that has had some considerable investment in quality fixtures and fittings. Very comfortable,warm, and relaxing. The breakfast was excellent quality and well presented but only from 8.30? This is a remote location so you can’t enjoy this breakfast if you need to be anywhere for 9am. This is one of the minor conflicts that you have to question when staying here. Why so must investment then so many niggling negatives that seem to want to cheese off a guest? You read reviews and everyone mentions the signage to hotel it’s so bad you wonder if it wants to be found. Advertises WIFi but it’s not in the bedrooms and no mention of why in room book. Car parking is chaotic no direction or markings and when yo drive to door you need to wiggle reverse manoeuvre back out and find a spot in front of a no parking sign. Dinner was okay and we were grateful they put this on as didn’t want to go out and find somewhere else but why Spotify with adverts that keep telling you to subscribe advert free and huge ketchup bottles on every table? Don’t let my moans stop you visiting it is nice and tranquil I just wonder why so much has been spent on quality but little attention made to gust needs. Deserves 5 stars!

A gem of a place and great value. Our room was lovely, tastefully decorated with a tiny but beautifully designed bathroom. Our room overlooked the garden and wood and we could hear an owl was hooting! Breakfast excellent too. Hotelier friendly and welcoming. Arriving in the dark it was tricky to see where to park as the two spaces outside the hotel door were taken but didn't take long to sort.
