We had a great stay for 2 nights at this hotel - we stayed in the villa / cottage rooms out in the gardens (near the rear carpark). Small, but functional. Limited kitchen supplies but love that even so, in NZ fashion nice wine glasses and cheese knife and plate were provided. Town is tiny, so everything is close, but super handy to have the supermarket so close (we could see it from the courtyard). We had dinner one night at the actual hotel and was so busy, the restaurant was completely booked but you can eat in the bar area (same menu and prices, just order at the bar). I recommend the pork fillet and porter's estate rose.
