When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by an abrupt receptionist at check in desk no welcome just asking for passports. The reception bar area were impressive but that’s as far as the 5 star standards reached, The room was out dated, tired and carpets were filthy. We booked on the basis there were 6 restaurants this was not the case, thankfully we were B&B , best food we had was outside the hotel in town, the 2 al a carte restaurants Pasta Cosy and Karmoussa don’t serve alcohol: we understand all inclusive guests could book once at 2 restaurants but main choice for them was buffet which at breakfast was basic, we had dinner there once again very basic choices. Service at the hotel was terrible particularly if you were English speaking, so called tea coffee facilities had couple of tea bags, coffee satchels and no milk pots. We had to ask for milk and generally anything we called for was a mission from ice, towels, tea bags , booking al a carte restaurants. The spa was dirty and the whole area was like a ghost town by the spa, felt sorry for the gifts shops that had hardly any guests as you would only know they were there if you went to the spa, which looked nothing like the photos, We noticed one of the Asian restaurants was closed apparently closed 2 years ago, there was a Brazilian restaurant boarded up and another part to the hotel totally deserted. The restaurant by poo Olive Grill was good but don’t think all inclusive guests had this part of their deal. Several English guests had same experience as us and informed us it was pointless raising concerns. My initial feedback was going to be 3 stars but very early on in our stay the reception arranged for us to see the duty manager: she came across very apologetic: attentive said she would pass our concerns to GM from Monday to Friday we had no acknowledgement. In fact next day she was at the pool restaurant with other staff and totally ignored us . Best service we had or at least with a smile was Chaoib and another young staff member with dark hair ,apologies not all staff wore name badges: she booked the Buddha Bar for us and this was one of our best nights. There wasn’t a single smooth running breakfast, constantly no mugs, no juice, no spoons in all the dishes set up, I wouldn’t even say it was so busy during the week, how the staff couldn’t keep everything filled is beyond belief, again there was only one tall staff who was always smiling and helping but had no name badge. But you were left waiting for clean cups, sugar, milk and coffee machines were constantly not working. You didn’t get any table service, so everything was queuing up. Housekeeping failed to replace everything on every occasion, staff would walk past you and not even say hello. Al nclusive guests seemed to be more dissatisfied. We weren’t expecting 5 star standards to perhaps in other countries but when we visited some of the other 5 star hotels like The Savoy, Sofitel, Le Jardin de la Katouba, Es Saadi La Palace al
