Borrman Hotels in Maoming

I went there because despite being far from everything, I don´t mind if it´s a nice place. I was lured by the nice pics with the blue sea, but what I found was disappointing, very calm, yes and so closed to the beach that you can hear the sea from the room. that I loved. What I didn't like much was that the water was brown-ish, I didn´t even dare to get in there. As for the hotel, first the good thing: LEO in the front desk went far and beyond to help me with my requirements, really seemed like the only person there willing to help customers. The room was clean, with a nice view and comfortable bed. The hotel has a pretty floating church where you can take nice pictures, it[s popular for weddings as I could evidence. Now, the not so good: Service wasn't as nice as you would expect for the price they charge; besides LEO, as I already mentioned, and the nice lady at the entrance of the restaurant, the rest of the staff was rather uninterested and unpolite. I went to the swimming pool the first day and there weren't any towels available. I asked one of the guys there (as of today I don't know what they were doing besides sitting on a chair and spitting all afternoon) if they could get me a towel and they told me I had to go to the front desk to get one...it was a 10 min walk from the swimming pool). I asked also the lady in the little convenience store next to the pool and the answer was the same. I went, asked LEO, he apologized and got me a towel (took them 10 mins to get a clean towel for me) and I finally could go. Breakfast buffet is mostly Chinese, and so is all in the hotel, mostly for Chinese couples who want to take nice pictures... I don't know what I was expecting, I though I would find a more foreigner-friendly environment, but I still have to learn to lower my expectations.

The room price on Tuesday in summer is 560 yuan (for this price you can stay at Wyndham in other cities). There are no plastic slippers in the room. The bathroom is at the level of a small county hotel (within 150 yuan), including toiletries. I went to Wyndham for breakfast (I guess it was three projects from the same developer). There were basically no hard dishes. Even the bacon was chopped and fried into potato cubes. There was no quality at all. It was said that there was a tourism festival in Thailand based on Southeast Asia. The breakfast at the resort hotel is rich and full. The sand on the beach is black and the sea water is yellow. This is also a problem with the developer's site selection and aesthetic management. It seriously affects my impression of Maoming, the leader of GDP in western Guangdong. I originally planned to stay one more night, so I immediately changed my itinerary and returned to Guangzhou.

For a person who travels for a long time, he really rarely reviews hotels. But this time I really want to complain. As an old hotel, it seems to be the only five-star hotel in Maoming. Apart from the good location, the price is really not worth it. First of all, the doorman was very rude when greeting guests, which ruined the first impression. The second is breakfast, as shown in the picture. In the name of epidemic prevention, this kind of breakfast is served. Think again about your price. The staff will pretend not to see you when they come face to face, and they won't say hello. For people who stay in the hotel for a long time, they feel that it is really much worse than other hotels of the same level. The only good thing is that the aunt who cleans the room is quite kind and polite. I guess I won’t stay here next time
