What a delightful stay at it was from the moment we walked in to welcoming smile at Reception by Ms.Ancilla . Luggage was quickly ushered into a spacious room with adequate facilities . Breakfast was well laid out with ample spread of Indian and Continental options . Mr Joy and Ms Bikash need to be lauded for their hospitality During our stay we did order from room service and food was delicious . They do also have 100% vegetarian restaurant that seemed quite popular . There is a supermarket across the road and there were several restaurnats nearbby . All in perfect place to stay right in the heart of Mangalore . Would be back here when next we come to Mangalore .

Going through positive reviews i tried aj hotel during my recent mangalore visit. The room was good but if it’s in the back block then the outside view is pathetic. Attitude of staff was a mixed bag. Some were courteous while others were not ! housekeeping services is not that prompt and i raised a complaint at front office to get the issue sorted out. Cleanliness is excellent. Rooms size is just okay and not that spacious. The food quality was not good. I ordered mutton sukka and naan. Sukka was not at all tasty and naan was okay. Much hyped morning breakfast spread was absolutely pathetic for the money we pay just boiled egg as non veg option and omelette as the only live option. Rest of the spread is just papaya/water melon cut fruits and dosa/ poori boiled beans and vada. So i give 2. 5/5 for this hotel

AJ Grand is an okay for a day or two category hotel in the town centre, near to shopping and with easy access to other parts of the city. Rooms and toilet were of decent size. Bed and pillows were okay for a night or two. I wont give a good rating for toilet cleanliness . Complimentary breafast spread was average. Standard South Indian items like Idli, dosa, vada, poha etc. Very few Items from bakery (tasteless muffins, croissant) . I felt staff were purely transactional, except the restaurant captains. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was very nice and tasty.

The property is centrally located. The rooms were spacious. Our room had window through which sunlight could come. In the morning it was beautiful. The staff is helpful and courteous. Food is definitely one plus point. The dinner ala cart e was good. Breakfast was complimentary and tad disappointing. Not much choices. Overall a satisfactory stay.
