We drove all the way from London to WHATLEY MANOR, the location is really rural bit quiet. IT IS A VERY BEAUTIFUL MANOR SINCE 1929. We booked a suite room and upgraded to extra single bed for my son and cost 150£, which is considered very expensive. We booked for 2 nights and it cost us 1500£, [ breakfast included ] in my opinion is very pricey for this location. I think their selling points are spa, sauna, thermal room , hydro pool but for Asian , it is too common for us.The beds are very comfortable, room is very spacious and cozy, provide good quality amenities. They have really beautiful garden good for walking and reading books. Beside price, everything is good.

Really Impressive, the service throughout the hotel is fantastic, never had to ask twice for anything. Really appreciate the amenities provided. Spa is lovely. Bar is well looked after by the lovely Lauren, who made me a smashing cocktail. Service in the restaurant is clean and quick. Overall a great time spent here, will recommend to friends.

We stayed in a spacious suite at Whateley Manor for six nights in late September, as part of a birthday trip exploring rural UK (we are Americans). From start to finish, we felt welcome and service was perfect in every way. Every detail we asked for was amazingly promptly attended to, but personnel went further -- they were proactive, and anticipated our needs. We had just come from another 5 star hotel where service was only 4 star, and the difference was refreshing. Our spacious quiet suite (room 17, 2nd floor) had a comfortable handmade mattress, a large living area, a bath with a two-person oversized soaking tub and separate shower with fluffy towels and bathrobes, a huge amount of closet and storage space, an in-room coffee/teamaker as well as a small fridge, and daily laundry service at a reasonable price. The food, wine, and service (especially by sommelier Connor) in the main dining room were simply brilliant, very creative. The lounge and bar area was comfortable with soft chairs and sofas and eclectic art work. Room service snacks were also available 24/7. In contrast, breakfast was not special (Full English, eggs and salmon, eggs benedict, but no interesting breads or varied charcuteries), but this is routine for upscale English inns. The same venue was used for the second restaurant, Grey's, which had a very limited though good menu (what I did not like there was the pumped in Detroit style pop music, it was distracting and tiring). This inn is on the extreme southern end of the Cotswolds, so the drive to get to the hub of things is further than with more centrally located hotels, and that is it's one disadvantage. Overall, however, we loved this inn.

Building very impressive and with some history. Facilities excellent (no aircon) grounds well maintained and very beautiful. Service very pleasant attentive and done with ease. Food in the Greys restaurant is simple not exciting but on Selected days the menu is augmented with more interesting dishes. 4 days a week The Restaurant is open and has a more ambitious menu. On Selected days the "Experience " would be choice. In my opinion this turned out to be contrived and not value for money, but that's my take on it.

Wow! What an amazing place. Beautiful hotel. Great room, totally quiet. Really good staff and excellent food. We loved the outdoor part of the pool. We’ve already booked to come back 1-4 October, and will definitely be regular visitors. Next time we hope to wander round the grounds, as they also look worth exploring. We were pleased to meet Micheal the General Manager several times, and were very impressed with Rowan who worked on Reception.

Despite coming here multiple times over the past 9 years we won’t be returning now. We’d previously eaten in the bar area as a family only a few months ago and the lovely waitress had provided a children’s meal (half an adults meal) so we hadn’t thought we’d experience trouble this time round. Sadly the waiter today refused to serve my two year old daughter any food saying the hotel does not allow children and does not cater for them. We’d clearly walked in as a family and reception had seated us - if Whatley Manor has suddenly stopped allowing children this should be made clear when walk ins enter for food. Our two adult meals were 2 star at best - nothing like our previous lovely meals and the downstairs needs a renovation. The ladies toilets downstairs has grout missing from most tiles and is in dire need of updating. Such a shame this once luxurious hotel has gone so downhill. I hope the manager sees this.
