"5/5 all round, me and my partner stayed here on the 8th July - 16th July in room 1205 , upon arrival we were greeted by a very nice man that collected our suitcases and brought us into reception to meet a woman that gave us the run down of the hotel, our package, where things are etc. All of the reception staff were brilliant and so helpful one of the reception staff that stood out for us was Elena and her team that she worked with she was so polite helpful and welcoming, thankyou. The reception staff assisted and helped us in an altercation that we were involved in on our leaving day due to the transfer arriving extremely late in which they helped and assisted us so much which we were very grateful for. Breakfast was perfect which consisted of a variety of foods, cakes and drinks again all of the workers were brilliant and very accommodating throughout but the whole time in our stay we really picked up on service and how helpful the waiters Gobi and Desponia was. These two need a real praise, especially Gobi he was so polite, kind and always good to have a chat too he was our favourite worker throughout our stay at King Minos and want to thank him for being so good at his job, same goes for Desponia. Lunch and dinner again were very enjoyable and had a variety of foods including pies, pizza, pasta, chicken dishes and cakes, however my partner and I both agreed that there needs to be more ‘ picky bits of food ‘ such as easy food including burgers, variety of pizzas, sausages and sausage rolls and more. Be regardless all of the food that we tried was very flavoursome cooked the right way and had no concerns. Overall our stay at King Minos was brilliant and can not fault this hotel one bit as they looked after us and were exceptional in helping us two and everyone else that stayed here. All workers were very polite and kind and never once had a problem. If we had an issue with something and raised it then the staff would do everything to try sort this such as requiring an extra pillow etc. Finally all of the cleaners were extremely respectful and nice people one cleaner that stood out for us was Uwana she would respect when we would want the room cleaned and not. "This was the second time we have visited Pyrgos Blue and it won’t be the last. The hotel has an undeniable charm, that emanates from the warmth of the family. On a practical level, the rooms are beautifully clean, large comfortable beds, and everything you need for a relaxing stay. Im sorry I didn’t get the cleaners name but she deserves a mention as she is there from dawn to dusk and works so hard! However, the appeal of the place is not just the stunning views, blue sea wherever you look, sunshine galore… but it’s the way the family make the customers feel so at home. You receive a warm and friendly welcome every day, the same faces.. working so hard yet always greet you with a smile. Manos is the funniest person there, not only has a great sense of humour but also the ability to speak to anyone in their level, and kindly explains things to you about the local area, or food or places of interest. Toula is a wonderful lady, graceful and kind. Helpful and makes delicious food for us. Nothing is too much to ask for, Toula will get it done! Then their adult son and daughter Elena and Vangelis, who both work the bar are also very hard working and helpful, always bringing a sense of calm and peace to the place. The overall ambience is a holiday where you can do as much or as little as you like. I love that it is not a big hotel, full of loud,annoying, drunk Brits…( and I am British by the way) … But instead, it’s a comfortable, peaceful place you can read your books and be left alone. The food is great, lots of restaurants to try close by..I’d recommend Avli and Odas to try. If you are looking for somewhere to chill, where you can find peace and tranquility, look no further. We can’t wait to go back!"

"We stayed here in September after visiting the beach a few times on previous trips. We had a look round and the rooms were amazing. We booked the Deluxe Apartments on the seafront which had hot tubs. The view across the ocean was amazing and waking up every morning to the sound of the sea and view was lovely. The rooms have everything you need, they are large and spacious and have everything you need. They have a kitchen area and large sofa. I can not fault the room and the facilities and the staff are really friendly and helpful. The pool area is lovely but the sun beds do tend to get saved quite early but most people sit on the beach. There were a couple a things that niggled me, the first being that you have to pay to use the beds on the beach when you are staying at the hotel. The second thing was we had a coffee and breakfast on the first day and then never ate and drank in there again as when they served the coffee it was half full so when I asked for it to be filled up they said as they had to push the button twice they would charge me double, a very strange thing so that stopped us eating and drinking in the bar and restaurant again and we ate next door. We are back again this year and can’t wait."
