This was one of my favorite resorts in Chiang Mai that my husband and family stayed. The staff is so kind and professional. The check in process was smooth and I loved the welcome gift and tea they provided as well as the treats they left in our room while we were out. The Japanese aesthetic is so beautiful against the mountain backdrop and surrounding farms of northern Thailand. I really felt like this resort paid respectful tribute to Japanese culture especially in the cuisine. My husband is a chef and we were blown away by how tasty and accurate each dish created was from the miso soup and sushi to the lamb shank over mashed potatoes. The culinary team at Onsen at Moncham are truly masters of their craft. Last, I loved the private dual-gender onsen experience and appreciated that upon check in, the staff helped you book your bath and dinner immediately. The only complaint I have is there were quite a bit of mosquitoes in our room. I think the screen doors may have gaps between them that these little guys can come through. In the evening they were really nibbling at us. Overall, it wasn’t a deal breaker and I cannot wait to return to this gem.

Proud Phu Fah was neat to stay at, but difficult for exploring Chiang Mai. We enjoyed feeling like we were staying in the jungle, and the room was clean and well-kept. There were three breakfast options, including one American breakfast, and the staff at the restaurant were especially pleasant. We were glad to have access to a pool, although it was a little chilly, even with pretty warm weather. In hindsight, we should have stayed closer to the city since we wanted to spend most of our time exploring Chiang Mai. There was a hotel driver available for an extra cost (1000 baht for a 1-way trip) who was very kind and flexible with our desires to go to the city. Once in the city, we had an easy time finding a Grab (like Uber) driver back to the hotel for a smaller cost. However, being about an hour away from the Old Town part of the city made for longer days. Overall, Proud Phu Fah would be a great place to stay if you are looking to hang out at the hotel most of the time! If you are wanting to explore Chiang Mai and go on excursions to an elephant sanctuary, the sticky waterfall, or Doi Inthanon, you're probably better off staying in the city instead!

We had a pleasant and peaceful stay up in the mountains. The images of the room were accurate and the family suite was spacious enough for 4 adults. The owners were helpful and responsive, food is available all day (till 8pm) and they cook the best porridge for breakfast. Do note that even though the Google location of the homestay is correct, the route to reach there is incorrect. We were horribly misled by Google; thankfully, a friendly local eventually guided us to the place. Guests should WhatsApp the owners for guidance on how to get there.

If you can't stand the congestion and air pollution in the city, go to the countryside in northern Thailand to rest. It is about a 30-minute drive from the old town of Chiang Mai. It is recommended for those who have transportation. If there is no transportation, it is recommended for those who want to participate in tiger and elephant tours. It’s really comfortable to stay in the swimming pool after having a daily schedule around. It’s perfect for families who just want to relax and have children. Check in directly and don’t go anywhere. The children have a great time in the swimming pool. The host can help prepare food. . There are village stalls within a five-minute walk. The park is designed with careful planting and the animals are well taken care of.

I was especially excited about staying at Jirung for a recent workshop I was participating in. The initial correspondences were very helpful and the staff seemed very capable of accommodating everything the group needed, including accomodations, dietary restrictions, and some of the delicate components of hosting a large group. While my room was actually very comfortable and a pleasure to stay in, the astronomical cost of the room per night was a huge turnoff, (more than all the 5 star hotels in Chiang Mai for the dates of my stay.) Chiang Mai is so affordable, and paying almost $120 per night at a ”discounted group rate” is just offensive for me given the complete non-existence of any form of concierge or star quality to the hospitality. I stayed in similar accomodations in Chiang mai for around 1/12th of the cost, don't get scammed by these prices. The restaurant on the property is a joke, absolutely ridiculous, as if all the employees were pulled off of the street and asked to work in an industry they don't understand and are downright terrible at, I have never experienced such disrepair in management and capacity from a restaurant before. They would consistently take 5 trips to bring the right bill with the right balances, constantly added things to the bill that weren't ordered, would include meat in vegetarian items, and when we pointed out that some individuals couldn't eat meat they would remove the chunks of meat from the dish and just bring it right back, pricing was different then what was listed on the menu and then they would refuse to honor the listed prices because these were ”old menus”, no concern for the health and wellness of their clients at a wellness center, absolutely laughable service, aweful awful awful! We stopped eating here after a few nights and elected to go to the 4 seasons next door to actually receive a meal from people who know what they are doing, and the pricing for the restaurant was higher than the #1 ranked restaurant on TripAdvisor, yet the only bad meals I had in thailand were while staying at Jirung. Numerous people, myself included, had numerous ant infestations in the ”villas”, and the workshop space smelled like cat urine because they have numerous cats on the grounds that wander freely. Supposedly the space was cleaned each day however a deep clean would be helpful to avoid the pungent aroma of cat urine, and this was workshop space on the first floor of the Thippamon Ashram, it just felt like the people working here had no respect for the customers or the job they were doing, and certainly weren't using the money we were spending to honor the space and care for the temple space. I would not recommend staying here, Everywhere else I have stayed in thailand was a better experience!

We traveled there with a fear that the hotel may not be as nice as the other Four Seasons hotels we have visited in the past. But we got there and got amazed of how the hotel is. The hotel is built around a lake. On a side of the lake there are sone rice plantation. The rooms are all around the lake and the plantation but hidden in a beautiful forest and gardens very well maintained. The hotel has, nearby the lake, an activities area including rice planting, pink buffalo bathing, pottery learning, etc. It makes you feel like you are living in a small thai village, in the middle of the nature (ok… luxury village in a luxury nature… ). The room is a “Four Seasons” room with a plus for the outside pavilion, high up from the ground and accesuble from the room through a bridge. All for the two of us to enjoy a drink and a cigar after the dinner right in the middle of the nature (luxury forest as previously mentioned…). So, you may see similar rooms in other hotels but domains as in the Four Seasons hotels you definately won find easily elsewhere. Even the pools were built by using green ceramic, so everywhere you look it is green. So relaxing for the eyes! Overall, it is hard to find the right words to describe the feelings this hotel gives you. If you are a traveler, you should not miss the Four Seasons Chiang Mai.

Love this hotel, new, clean, medium sized hotel. 3 of us stayed in a good size double story room! It’s only 5-10 mins drive from the city and they offer a great spread for hotel breakfast & my favourite is the mini cafe which they open every morning, even if it’s just to serve 2-3 guests with latte or americano coffee options. Must say they really put heart into the work they do. Every single staff there works hand in hand to provide great service. Will be back!

Outstanding
YYANYANThe location is relatively quiet, there is no commercial around, you can park, only suitable for self-driving, with baby, the hotel environment is very comfortable and comfortable, breakfast is ordering, hotel guests are free, but the efficiency is slower, for going to see early Elephants and so on suggest that everyone take it directly. Hot water is very good, cost-effective! The hotel manager is very gentleman, can book a day trip program, we participated in happy elephant, brought a baby over two years old, really a very difficult experience but very impressive. This protection camp is not Chinese except us. It is highly recommended that families with children go to the insect zoo and popo park is not a domestic experience.
GGuest UserThis resort was a dream! Such quiet, beautiful views. Stunning scenery and amazing food. The villa was incredible, with a personal swimming pool and the decor was traditional Thai which is exactly what I had hoped for! The service was incredible and above and beyond! My partner had a tooth problem on our 2nd day, and they quickly found us a dentist in downtown Chiang Mai. I have already suggested this property to so many family, friends, and colleagues and will definitely return myself.
HHaluhaluyaGreat hotel. Not so much a hotel, it is more like a domestic boutique homestay. The whole hotel is about 5-8 villas. Each villa is one family. The room is well maintained, not dirty and not tide. Close to the Four Seasons Hotel. The breakfast every morning is a reservation system, and it feels like the Four Seasons Hotel is doing part-time. The ancient city is tired for a few days and you can consider coming here for a few days. Every few hundred meters around, there will be some very special coffee shops. It is not far from the Limeisa Falls. The housekeeper pen is very nice, warm and kind. Suitable for family travel.
CChompu SrichaiThe receptionist is good. Lovely, very attentive to customers. The room is spacious, but next to the water flow is a little slow. If you can adjust this, it will be very good. and breakfast porridge With delicious bread
GGuest UserThis was our third time at Mae Sa valley. It is such a special place. We travel extensively and I consider this to be one of the most beautiful spots in the world. It had not changed a bit in 5 years, maybe perhaps the gardens got more beautiful. The setting: The gardens here are looked after so well. There are several gardeners at work the whole time. The view is breath-taking and stunning with a fast flowing river at the bottom. The manageress, Ai, is very good at her job, speaks amazing English (which is not a given in Thailand) and is very intuitive. Last time we stayed in one of the cheaper rooms up the top which had the advantage of an amazing view over the whole valley. The rooms are a bit basic but you get what you pay for. We upgraded to what they call a suite this time and it was amazing. I cannot describe the attention to detail (murals on the walls, door handles in animal shapes etc.) I discovered something new every time I looked. Next time we will go for the suite suite! These rooms are closer to the river which is nice but the river is loud. It is quite well insulated in the bedroom so you don't hear it. The area: There is surprisingly a lot in the way of tourist attractions here (botanic gardens with canopy walks, insect farm, elephant farm) but not much in the way of restaurants. Bring snacks. Of course, this is not for everyone. If you are mobility impaired this will not work for you as too many steps. As you are in nature there are a lot of insects and it is humid and you get a damp smell from the river. Also, breakfast is very basic (but the view makes up for it!) All said, this place is special and has to be seen.
AAnanya_kaviKangsadarn Resort and Waterfall is near to Panviman Resort where I visited last year with a few negative moments (March 2018/ please refer to my earlier review). With superb location, Kangsadarn is on the other side of the road facing a natural waterfall which you can hear a delightful sound of waterfall throughout an entire day. Though the resort itself was built more than 30 years ago, the room is maintained in acceptable condition, very clean and smell fresh. I was also impressed by the hotel persons and excellent services received. I definitely recommend Kangsadan and would love to visit again before the new construction starts.
LLalaLaBlueThe rooms are clean, quiet. The breakfast was delicious. The atmosphere is very good, the weather is not too cold or cold. If there is a chance to come back again Coming with a couple is very romantic ☀️☀️
KkamolmeesriFirst time of my life that I came here, I have found real nature surrundings of the resort. I have been arrived so late at night so I miss almost all thing on first day at here, but next day in early morning we drove up to the top of mountian to reach Doi Mon Cham as I found amazing scenery with excellence atmosphere. And when I came back to resort I got surprise with all thing at here that fullfill mylife while I stop everything or hide from all job.
JJeremyCockroaches in toilet and from under the bed. Guessing as it was located on the ground floor by the roads and nearby trees etc. thank god stayed only for a night.
