Riviera Hotel Macau

The room was clean, tidy, and quiet. The only downside was a drainage issue in the bathroom. The front desk staff were very friendly and readily answered all our questions. The price was also very reasonable.

The hotel's hygiene and service were excellent, and it was very quiet and comfortable. However, getting from the A-Ma Temple station to the hotel requires climbing a small hill, which was unbearable in the hot weather – I practically took a sweat bath! 😂 The front desk can help call taxis, making getting around quite convenient. The hotel requires a 300 deposit. Coincidentally, there was a Mid-Autumn Festival fireworks show during my stay, and the hotel's fourth floor offered a spectacular view. The breakfast was the same both days, and I particularly enjoyed the oatmeal.

The decor is incredibly outdated, I have no idea what era it's from. And the fridge is one of those old-fashioned models, incredibly noisy. It would hum for a bit, then go quiet, then hum again. I even removed the power card and it still had power. I couldn't sleep until 3 AM, so I got up and unplugged the fridge, then it was hot all night. Over 800 a night, and I've never slept in such a terrible hotel. The staff, however, were excellent – patient and enthusiastic. The view of the Macau Tower from the 4th floor is quite good though.

Huge thanks to Hotel Riviera Macau for making my birthday so enjoyable and memorable! When I checked in, a staff member immediately wished me a 'Happy Birthday,' and when I got to my room, there was a birthday gift 🎁 prepared by the hotel, along with a handwritten note. It was incredibly thoughtful and touching! Every time I visit Macau, I choose to stay at Hotel Riviera. The environment, cleanliness, facilities, and service attitude are all excellent. I'll definitely choose Hotel Riviera again on my next trip! Five-star rating! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I'm back at the Harbourview Hotel! This time, I didn't realize the hotel shuttle's pick-up point had changed, so I waited around for ages. Ended up taking the bus instead. The room rates were a steal before the holidays, and the hotel is buzzing now with lots of guests checking in. The staff were all very friendly, and the room was spotlessly clean. I'll definitely be back again.

The stay was great! It was quite affordable, and close to A-Ma Temple Station, which makes it easy to get to many places on the lower peninsula. Plus, taking the light rail from here in the morning to catch a flight is stress-free. At night, you can even see the Macau Tower from upstairs – the view is really nice!

Overall, it was quite an unpleasant experience. It happened to be the Macau International Fireworks Display Contest on the day we checked in. The front desk told us that the balconies would be open to hotel guests for viewing the fireworks, which made us very excited. However, when night came, both balconies had already been sold out for table service and dining half a month prior, and hotel guests were not allowed in. We were only permitted to watch from a very crude area between the two balconies. Our room cost 1600 RMB per night, and the toilet constantly emitted a foul odor. Even after staff came to deal with it and sprayed air freshener, the entire room still smelled terrible. When we reported the issue that day, the front desk staff merely said the hotel was full and nothing could be done, then proceeded to serve other guests, leaving me ignored and unattended. Later, we were moved to another room, but there was no apology or compensation for the previous night's experience. Furthermore, the claim of it being a five-star hotel on Ctrip is inaccurate. The facilities were old and run-down, resembling a hotel from China in the 1980s. The only friendly front desk staff member was the young man at the currency exchange counter, who was very helpful.
