When you travel you expect to be treated fairly and justly. This hotel did not. It started off ok but it was hot when we were there and there was no air conditioning in our room. Our room was on the street side and we either had to open a window and listen to loud noise or sweat. They did give me a broken fan and the next day when I complained they said that I should have asked for a better fan. BUT they knew the fan was defective as previous guests had stuffed paper into the neck to try to get the fan to stay upright. The staff said they would call the police to stop the noise after 10 but you cannot call enough police to hold down a crowd of noisy people. The staff promised me a better room the next day but then changed their mind (after I complained to **********) telling me that since I purchased a reduced fare through a discount site, that I would not get a better room. I decided to move to a better hotel since there were many in the area. Then the hotel would not give me a refund. I am out $275 SO here is my suggestion. There are many hotels in the area a lot better with a lot better customer service. Find a better one. Next, never book a hotel that does not say specifically that they will give a refund. Next, never pay at the hotel, pay through **********. Next, if you book through a discount site, make sure the hotel has air conditioning in ALL rooms or you will get the worst room in the house. The hotel is beautifully located near many attractions, bars and restaurants. The bed was very comfortable but did not like the pillows particularly. The room was cleaned but not hugely spacious. Plenty of space for your belongings. We had room 52. The shower was great but the towel rail was right in front of the toilet and it was physically impossible to sit straight while on the toilet. Even harder if you are tall! Otherwise, the Rooftop has a beautiful view of Fauvriere and it’s worth going for it. We decided to have breakfast somewhere else as we didn’t think it was worth €18 considering there are so many other lovely places in the area where they offer more choice for less. We haven’t tried dinner, but there’s a lovely atmosphere up there. Staff were very kind and professional at all times.

The best thing is to have free parking spaces, which are really rare in the city, but the parking spaces are first come first served. If you arrive in the evening, it is basically impossible, and it is recommended to stop the car and don't drive. It is not convenient to drive in the city. The room is small and the design is not very reasonable. The 7-day standard is still equipped with a sink in the corridor. It is better to use the space in the area near the bed. The service is reduced because there is always no one at the front desk. I want to check out twice and can't find anyone. I really don't want to take the time to put the key at the front desk. The location is convenient, next to the literary and art neighborhood, in fact, the feeling of the cement forest, in a building and patio that is abandoned and actually lives, there are many graffiti, standing in the parking lot can see the river opposite.

The youth hostel with excellent facilities, one on each floor of the public washroom, is very large, including the bathroom, the washstand and the toilet, separated by men and women. The room was very clean, and the front desk lady chose the best bed for us, praise! Each bed has a cabinet and power outlet. The kitchen is small but can be cooked and the peak period is expected to be very crowded. The bad place is too noisy! ! I was on the road, and some people in the house came back late at night, and it would be very big to open the door.

Amazing Hostel/Hotel. The room was super spacious for a private twin bedroom, huge bathroom and super tidy and clean. Staff were inviting and informative. Kitchen facilities were great, however no oven. A few more utensils would have been great. Met some amazing travellers in common area. Didn't check out bar or restaurant as I was out most of the day/evening. Only negative was the hill to walk up from the city centre. But that is only a Minor negative
Grand Hotel des Terreaux

This was the second time I had stayed at the Grand Hotel des Terreaux. The hotel is in a central location in Lyon, and I like the style. The service was excellent, they speak English, and I loved the breakfast buffet. The room I stayed in was very nice but on the smaller side, typical for hotel rooms in France. The bed was very comfortable for me, and the room had air conditioning which is great as it can get quite warm in France. Wireless access was included, and fast and reliable. Overall an excellent hotel I can highly recommend.
