The hotel was amazing and we really enjoyed our stay. It was our last hotel in Egypt and the best one! All the staff were friendly and ready to help in anything but we want to especially thanks to the Guest Relations Catherine, she made us feel welcomed and she was friendly, helpful and kind with us the whole time. The swimming pool is fantastic, after a hot day you can chill over the pool, have some drinks and see the beautiful and unforgettable sunset at the River Nile. The hotel is well maintained, the rooms are spacious and clean. They have several restaurants with different dietary options, the breakfast was a delicious international buffet and they even have a gift shop inside the hotel. It is accessible for wheelchair user and kids friendly. Definitely we highly recommended.

Service was great and we got a room upgrade upon arrival. View is beautiful facing the Nile river. However the bedding is probably one of the worst I have slept on from a 5 stars hotel, the sheet and duvet covers are very rough and worn out, literally hurt my skin. I had to use a disposable bed sheet cover I brought with me to cover the bed. Please comfortable beddings are a basic for a nice hotel, at the end of the day people are paying to sleep not just for the view.

We arrived at midnight for a one night stay and left in the morning to see the temples. Good location. Friendly staff. My only suggestion would be to provide better directions to find the 6th floor as the elevator stops on the 5th, and there was no signage to direct us towards our room. It was confusing and took longer than expected to find where we needed to go even with directions from the front staff.

The Iberotel Luxor is in an excellent location overlooking the Nile (and 15 minutes from the train/bus station). Am so happy I chose to stay here. The Nile facing room is well worth the slightly higher price. My room was a good size with a fridge, lots of closet space, two arm chairs and a table. Only minus was that the sockets are oddly far from the bed. The balcony is great for sitting in the evening or at night or whenever it's not hot. It's quiet though the outside bar was playing a soccer game. Otherwise, no noise at night. Also no wifi issues anywhere in the hotel. The bathroom is functional but could use a bit of updating. The morning breakfast buffet had everything (breads, omelet bar, fruits, veggies, jams, cheese, meats, yogurts, dips, sweets, juices) and I went back for seconds and thirds every day. The pool area is lovely and right next to the Nile. Plenty of chairs and you can order from the cafe or just nap. All the staff from the waiters to the manager are nice and helpful. I walked to the sights, shopping and restaurants but obviously there are taxis and horses waiting outside. I was very happy, stayed an extra night and would absolutely recommend.

The Old Winter Palace is the grand old dame of Luxor. The hotel is extremely atmospheric. However, it needs to be clearly said that an upgrade of the rooms will soon be needed. However, this did not impact my general impression of the hotel. I had a classic room on the third floor, with Nile view. The room had a balcony, which was brilliant. The hotel staff are all extremely kind and helpful. The restaurants (I tried the 1886, the La Corniche, as well as the pool-side restaurant) were all very good, and the service was excellent. breakfast in la corniche was good. What I would suggest here would be to open the windows for some fresh air - and possibly even considering an the construction of an outside terrace. Variety of food and quality of food was great. Coffee was served in a French coffee press. - It feels hard to describe the hotel - it just felt ”right”. I would defnitely stay there again, and will recommend to others.

The environment is very good. It shares a garden with the Hermitage and the swimming pool is great. The service is very good except for the receptionist who kept urging us to check out. When we checked in, we already said we wanted to check out late and the supervisor agreed. She didn't ask. He said we didn't have any and asked us to leave immediately. I called the front desk again and she said she would check in. This time there was no reply. The experience was extremely bad. Others were very nice. The breakfast was poor, but the environment was good. , I would like to give special praise to the guy from Jian Omlet. He is a nice person and very patient. The restaurant service is very good. It is not an exaggeration. He has been to all Egyptian hotels and has done a good job. In addition to the Winter Palace and the Old Waterfall, the Egyptian hotel service also includes the Mina Palace. Other services are very poor, including the Kapinski where I live now, but for the cost performance and this garden, I will still choose it.

One of the best hotels in which I have stayed. It was overall an amazing experience. First, professional staff and very friendly, from reception to restaurant and room service, all was amazing. The room was clean and fully equipped with everything that a guest might need. When faced with a problem they quickly try to solve it. Also they were very trust worthy. I happened to lose my sunglasses and they kept them safe for me to pick them up. The view from the nile side was stunning, I strongly recommend picking a room with that view, it’s totally worth the additional fee. The breakfast was also delicious with variety of choices and so was the dinner. This stay is totally worth 5 stars

This hotel is a hidden gem in Luxor. The hotel is in an excellent place downtown and my room was neat, clean, and plenty cool thanks to the AC. The manager Mustafa was also very kind and really helped make my stay here special. When I come back to Luxor, I will definitely come back here and enjoy the views from their pool balcony!

SCAM! DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL - THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY! I should have read other sites' review since it has happened to different people already. They charge you 2 or 3 times in your cards by telling you that they do not get paid by the booking system (Hotels.com Booking, etc) so they ask for your card again, or for a different card (in my case) to pay for the stay; but in reality they have made the charge through the booking place (illegally, as you haven't consented to that!). Suffice to day they have been playing dumb since I contacted them to explain the problem - they just ignore that fact saying they dont see double payments. I didn't think an established ”hotel” would do that as well - we experienced a lot of scamming and robbery in Luxor; EVERY person in Luxor is trying to steal from you in one way or another - sadly this hotel does the same. I cannot even advice to stay somewhere else, as all of Luxor seemed to operate in scams and cheating. The only thing I can advise is ”DO NOT GO THERE” - or if you must, go with a fully booked and paid Tour so you do not need to deal with this disgusting situation.

Let’s all stay here to watch the beautiful early morning hot air balloons! The hot air balloons started to rise one after another at about half past six. I saw it at half past seven, and I was really satisfied. The price is low, it’s really a great value for money!

Outstanding
GGuest UserThe hotel is very good. The room in an alley is very big. It is similar to a domestic homestay. The boss is very enthusiastic and there is a letter. You can contact the elevator. It is very good.
GGuest UserLocated on the quieter West Bank, the hotel (more of a large guest house) is bang in the middle of a village of locals and gives this place a really authentic feel. The locals in the town centre can harass you extensively, but those in the neighbourhood just want to say hello or get on with their day. I haven't always felt safe in Egypt travelling solo, but here I feel completely at home! Every single member of staff is fantastic. Not all of them speak much English, but they'd do anything to make your stay more comfortable. At least three of the staff speak English well: The owner, Mahmoud, usually hangs around the hotel but also lives locally and treats his guests like family. Ahmed will always greet you with a smile and a warm welcome and Talab is a perfect gentleman who will drive you wherever you need to go. The rooms are divided into three blocks, which have been added at different times. Block one has the best rustic feel. My shower wasn't working properly and Mahmoud proposed a number of solutions. Eventually, I moved to a room in the newer block. Most rooms overlook a beautiful green courtyard with exposed and shaded outdoor seating and a pool. There is also a restaurant on site with indoor and outdoor seating. Everything is reasonably priced, tours can be organised in house, and there's a little shop around the corner for things like bottled water staffed by a couple of lovely ladies who speak no English but will not rip you off. Note, there is a mosque nearby which can be quite loud when announcing the call to prayer and that may not be to everyone's taste. Personally, I feel it adds to the charm and it hasn't yet woken me up at night. Access to the populated East Bank and museums is via a ferry that is a 10 minute walk away and costs just 10 EGP per way. Solo traveller, 34
JJoshua C5 out of 5 is because a mishap with electricity that was my fault and likely cost the hotel more than my room. Not only did they not charge me, they were extra generous in their treatment after they determined I had burned their socket out. In Negligence Every person working there was very pleasant and helpful. The food was good and the chef was clean in his kitchen (which I was invited into). Our shower wasn’t the best but they offered to show us other rooms. We bought the most economical room and discovered that for a little more I would have had very nice accommodations. The owner was available every time I needed. We left our bags in a room with a camera when we checked out. So it was a real win for my wife and I for our 10th anniversary. - PSA Getting a good tour guide is the most important part , you can communicate them about planning a trip. PS the currency is about $30 to $1. So get a large amount of smaller bills initially for things like buying food from people on your path. Stores mostly take credit
GGuest UserStayed here as part of G Adventures Highlights of Egypt tour. Not much positive to say about the place except I've got to give accolades to the housekeeping guy. He was also friendly and even made some towel art creatures every time he serviced the room. A very nice guy. But you can't go past the ridiculous high prices for laundry. It's per item and starts at one US dollar for a pair of underwear. I mean I'm not from the US and we're not in the US so why are we using a currency that isn't Egyptian pounds? I went to Antarctica who have a monopoly for anything you buy as you're on a ship and their laundry prices weren't that ridiculous. If you're on the G Adventures trip do your laundry at the hotel before this, there it was also per item but only a couple of Egyptian pounds per item. So you can wash everything in your bag for the price of one or two pairs of underwear at Susanna. If you've left it too late the hotel in Alexandria is also quite reasonable. Breakfast was so bad I didn't go back after the first day. These guys couldn't care less about the environment, Every bit of stale bread and every other inedible thing is wrapped in multiple layers of plastic. You've got to pay extra (remember you paid for a room that includes breakfast) for a cup of orange juice. There's no water with breakfast either, you can buy bottles and other beverages in the foyer though.
GGuest UserAt the end of the day, you get what you pay for. That being said, for the price, the room surpassed my expectations, in cleanliness and organisation. However, the staff was probably the best part, they helped us book various services in Luxor, including hot air balloon ride. They were very friendly and helpful, and I definitely recommend Shady Hotel as a place to stay for cheap if it is your first time in Luxor.
GGuest UserThe entrance location of the Karnake Temple is about the middle of the temple on the road from Luxor Temple. The navigation is not possible. The free travel is paid attention to and a large circle is circled. All temple hotels can report small groups with cars and it is convenient.
