Lovely old place staff friendly Asked if there was a lift as stairs are a problem Yes was the reply what they didn’t tell you is that after the lift there’s countless corridors & extra stairs leading to a flight of stairs about 15 steps The place has loads of fireplaces but the fire in reception was only lit once a day so the place was cold We upgraded to a better room but it was really cold one small radiator behind the curtain wasn’t enough The bed was comfy but the duvet only fit the top so when you got in you had to sleep in the middle to get covered The food was lovely service very slow

The staff were extremely friendly from the early email exchanges, though arrival, during the stay and on departure. This was an incredibly comfortable hotel with great facilities. The rooms were really clean and the beds very comfortable. The bathroom and shower were outstanding.

I’ve visited the Feathers hotel many times over the years and have enjoyed the setting. I decided to go for a light lunch as I knew that they did gluten free options there. Whilst my daughter’s sandwiches looked quite appetising at £13 for a fish finger sandwich, my gluten free egg sandwich was extremely disappointing at £10!! I’m aware that the gluten free loaves are often small but with such little filling, it was disappointing. I did mention it to a member of staff, but they really didn’t seem bothered. I also asked if the chips were gluten free and cooked in a separate fryer to be told that “it’s fine as the hot oil gets rid of gluten” (which it doesn’t). The staff really need more training with regards to food allergies! All staff looked as if they really didn’t want to be there (apart from one lady who was friendly). I won’t be rushing back.

Superb overnight stay at the Feathers Hotel. Clean, spacious room with excellent facilities. Dinner is exquisite, don't be in a rush, the wait is worth it. The staff are very helpful. Location is central and parking is available off road and is secure with CCTV coverage. Ludlow is a wonderful market town with a super range of independent boutique shops. Highly recommend.

Well appointed and highly recommended hotel with very friendly staff, great breakfast and good drink selection. The Feathers is perfectly positioned in the centre of Ludlow which has a great variety of shops, pubs, restaurants and also.walks. I would recommend a larger room as one of our friends did have quite a small room but the room rrates do cater for all budgets.

Treated ourselves to a dinner b&b travelzoo break at the feathers . To say it was disappointing is an understatement. That beautiful hotel facade reveals a sad and stripped hotel inside, staffed by people who really looked like they didn’t want to be there. The only person who actually smiled was the nice girl that brought our cooked breakfasts. We did find two lovely function rooms by peeking behind closed doors but our room was actually above the shops about three doors down the street . Considering some millions of pounds has been spent on a recent refurbishment it wasn’t really up to scratch . The room was very cramped, half the secondary double glazing was missing and it must be some time since the windows were cleaned judging by the dead spider and muck on the glass. The bathroom looked newer but the floor was in a dirty and poor state of repair as was the shower head. We eat in the restaurant- nothing special. Such a shame as the external building promises so much . I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase all fur coat and no knickers … ☺️
