The staff are so lovely here. Very accommodating and always have a smile on their face. The room was very spacious which was a god send for us as we had been travelling for a few weeks in Vietnam beforehand, and some of the rooms we stayed in were quite small in comparison. They provided amenities and a stocked mini bar. The rooms are located with a few metres of the night market, and the morning market starts just outside the front gates of the accommodation. The people there were so quiet that you couldn’t hear what was happening outside of your room or on the street. We did have a bit of a giggle at the sleeping arrangements, as the bed was two pushed together, but this didn’t bother us. The door we had was a bit tricky as it was wood and seemed to get stuck… quite possibly due to humidity.. but a bit of elbow grease doesn’t hurt. Breakfast was great with fruit served along with your choice of meal. I opted for the noodle soup one morning and the second morning eggs. Very tasty. The meals were very generous. They even kindly packed us takeaway breakfast as we had a morning flight to catch to our next destination.

This is one of the best guest houses I have ever stayed in! It was simply sublime! The location was perfect and serene, our room had a balcony overlooking the Mekong River. The breakfast each morning was beautifully set up right on the banks on the river and the selection was great! The food was so delicious. The true highlight of our stay was the proprietor of the guesthouse, Cuong. He was so helpful and friendly and really went the extra mile to ensure our stay was the most incredible one ever. We received a welcome drink of fresh watermelon juice on arrival and he immediately pulled up a map and marked all the points of interest for us. He would always check in with us everyday to see how we were enjoying our stay but it didn’t feel impersonal, it was like chatting with a friend. He also helped to arrange transport and there were bikes that were free to use for guests. One particularly memorable moment was when we came back from the waterfalls and said to Cuong that we were exhausted from being out in the sun and he arrived to our room a few minutes later with complimentary watermelon juice! It was such a wonderful and unforgettable experience! I highly recommend staying here for the perfect Luang Prabang getaway!

The boss helped us make an appointment for 6 people, which costs 12W per person. We also went to Dazhou on the way. The hotel is right by the Mekong River, and the cafe has a river view. The room is large, the facilities are new, and the wood used is warm and feels first-class. The mushroom and lean meat porridge provided for breakfast is a must! The front desk manager Xiaolong speaks fluent Chinese and provides warm service. This is my second stay, and it has basically become a regular place to stay in Labang in the future.

I took a half day emountain bike this morning with 2 other people. I was super excited having paid $75 for it, had high expectations... The bike itself looked fine, however it could not handle steep hills. I asked another guest on the tour to test it as I was really struggling. He said it had no oomph or power on the steeper hills. He too ended up pushing it which he didnt have to do at all on his bike at any point. The others were motoring through pain free and they were older than me. The guide tested and said it was fine. Of course. The climbs were steep and it was exhausting. We never got to stop for photos or admire the scenery and it felt like an endurance test. We were then taken on a hike to some caves but I couldn't manage it after the exertion of getting there. The guide never checked on me and just let me go down alone. There was a van with three men in it (at this point I didn't know they were going to take my bike to the next village). As a solo traveller my first thought is my safety. Here I am waiting (no phone signal) in the middle of nowhere with these three young men there. The woman in my group observed there was 'bedding in the back'. It was unacceptable. I was then deposited I'm a village somewhere (alone) and waited for the others. Please note I am fit, lift weights and play badminton in a league. I have also played semi professional football. I gave them the opportunity to make it right but as ”the guide said it was fine” it clearly was, fine. Breathtaking. A premium price for a basic product- should have just hired a mountain bike for a tenth of the price. I hate giving bad reviews and if it had cost a bit less then I probably wouldn't but I really think people should know they are rolling the dice with this company. Absolute waste of time and money.
