La vista es hermosa, pero no amerita pagar tan caro. El precio es excesivo, la habitación es estrecha y el agua para bañarse puede estar fría. El desayuno es normal. es una región con serios problemas de agua, recomiendo prudencia en su consumo.

I enjoyed a wonderful stay at Refugio de la Roca in October of 2016 and went to sleep each night at around 8:30 pm with a view of the canyon and stars. (I am a hiker and like to get up early each day.) My stay at the end of 2021 was an entirely different matter. There was loud music during dinner time each night that lasted until at least 9 pm, so I had to use ear plugs if I wanted to go to sleep before then. The worst night was that of New Year’s Eve, when there was much louder music organized by La Roca itself from about 11 pm to 2 am, and then raucous music by some guests from at least 2:15 am to 3:45 am, when it appears that La Roca may have finally asked them to turn it off. My ear plugs were of no use given the volume of the music. I don’t plan on ever returning to this place, having seen the complete disregard for its supposed mission of offering a “lugar de descanso” (place of rest). The signs about not playing music too loud were a cruel joke since the place turned into a discoteca. Unfortunately it was an infuriating start to the new year. La Roca decided to ask the cook to come in at 9 am instead of the normal 7 am on January 1st, which is somewhat understandable but it would have been nice to know about it advance. On the positive side, La Roca coordinated my transportation on the 1st, which arrived on a punctual basis.

Lugar muy hermoso y romántico, aunque bastante costoso comparado con otros lugares en la Mesa de los Santos con vistas similares, nuestro problema fue con la habitación Aconcagua, en la cual nos llenamos de hormigas de repente, si bien se entiende que estamos en la naturaleza y es un ecolodge deberían estar un poco mas preparados o aislar un poco mejor las habitaciones de insectos ya que se esta pagando un precio muy elevado, adicional a esto la habitación contaba con energía solar y en la noche nos quedamos sin energía, nos toco acercarnos a la recepción con el camino a oscuras teniendo un riesgo de caída o accidente debido a que no contábamos con iluminación en el camino.

Ayant lu certaines critiques mitigées, nous nous attendions à vivre une expérience moyenne… quelle ne fut pas notre surprise, cet hôtel est vraiment exceptionnel, les chambres perchées à flanc de falaise ont une vue imprenable sur la vallée et sont très bien conçues. Quand le temps est un peu couvert, on a littéralement la tête dans les nuages, c’est fascinant. On est en outre aux premières loges pour admirer les levers de soleil. L’architecture de cet hôtel intègre de manière ingénieuse le relief de la roche. Ajouté à cela, tout le personnel est adorable et la cuisine délicieuse à des prix tout à fait abordables ! Avec des pâtisseries succulentes (roulé à la cannelle, gâteau choco-banane, brownies….), concoctées par Luiz, qui est par ailleurs un guide de haute montagne et de haute voltige ! Nous avons fait avec lui et le guide Alfredo une via ferrata en toute sécurité ! Les espaces communs sont très agréables et c’est l’occasion de rencontrer les nombreux « climbers » qui viennent escalader les belles voies à quelques minutes de l’hôtel. Le seul bémol serait peut être la lourdeur des démarches avec la centrale de réservation, mais on comprend mieux les mesures de sécurité prises quand on découvre les chambres ! Bref, une sacré expérience qui a marqué nos esprits, sans doute le plus bel hôtel de notre voyage !
