Argueta Hotel

I spent one night here before flying out of the country from San Salvador airport. The good: 1. Very close to the airport. Four minutes away I think. 2. The air conditioning in my room was very effective and quiet. The bad: 1. My room was a stand-alone building with double sliding glass doors. The room wasn't much bigger than the bed. No desk. No chair to sit on. No closet or wardrobe. No place to put luggage. 2. The curtains on the sliding glass doors (one whole side of this small building) did not reach the full width of the doors. 3. The toilet and shower were outside and I had to go outside and around the back of the building to find them. 4. There is a tile surface for the little cubicles of the toilet and shower, but the rest of it is gravel. Stepping out of the shower you're stepping on to crushed rock that is sharp and very uncomfortable on the feet. 5. There is no sink to brush teeth or wash hands or shave. 6. There is no mirror. NONE! Is it too much to expect a hotel room to have at least a small mirror for shaving or combing the hair??? 7. There were no towels in my room, but they were delivered to me when I requested them. 8. There was a bed sheet, but only the fitted sheet on the mattress. No upper sheet. 9. The only blanket provided was extremely thin and not big enough to reach to my shoulders (and I'm only 5'3"). In some ways, it felt more like I was camping than staying in a hotel. I would NOT book this property again.

It was just a one-night stay, and the price was great, but my wife had a hard time sleeping because the bathroom smell was atrocious. One night was definitely enough. While the place was clean, the ongoing construction was a bit of a drawback. I’d only consider staying here again if I needed to be close to the airport—otherwise, I’d choose somewhere else

The hotel was pricey but it looked more like a building site. Far from the lovely pool pictures which were on the website! The room was extremely basic and definitely doesn't meet 3* standard. I was very disappointed that construction would start very early and the workmen had very little regard to customers who were trying to sleep.

The hotel is less than 10 minutes from the airport and offers a shuttle service to and from the airport. Fast, professional and helpful check in with many unique rooms available. We enjoyed the restaurant experience. Hotel offers car rental, long and short-term parking, laundry service and a scale to weigh baggage. The staff was wonderful. The hotel was located right off the main road. The room had no microwave, refrigerator or closet. No electrical outlet in the bathroom and only one near the nightstand. Also, no hot water.

Our family usually try to find the best of every situation, but we are fed up with Hotel Argueta. Our family goes to El Salvador at least twice a year and since Walter Araujo advertise this hotel on his program we decided to stay there. We enjoy seeing all the objects on display, it's a great assett. But after staying there for at least 6 times we have decided it's time to take our business somewhere else. Our previous visit (like most of us Salvadorans) my sisters brought some Salvadoran cheese back to USA. The hotel charges you a fee for keeping the cheese in the frig, which is perfecty allright. What is not ok is to increase the lbs of cheese by almost a pound per customer. If I am bring in back 10 lbs, it will be the same 10 lbs no matter where I weigh them. And is not about the money, it's about the principle. On our last visit the same thing happened, but there were more annoying events that made us no longer wanting to stay there. They have only one waiter and one cook, for the entire hotel. Of course the waiter takes a long time to help the customers and or course it's the same for the cook to prepare the food. Because of this shortage of staff the service at the restaurant it's awful, by no fault of the waiter or cook. The staff do as much as they can, but there is no way they can keep up with the flow of people. So there you have it.
