Beautiful and worth the long drive!
We loved our stay at Altos de Cano Hondo. It is a lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. We also loved the hotel guide Wilfred who took us on a great tour! The architecture of the hotel was wonderful, the food was basic but good and the scenery was beautiful. You should note that Altos Cano Hondo is the smaller sister hotel to the larger Paraiso Cano Hondo. They both share the same natural pools but you need to take a quick walk down from Altos to Paraiso to use the pools.

Little piece of paradise
What a wonderful place. Very rustic but stylish design. Comfortable beds, beautiful view from the balcony and loved the idea of a hammock in the room for chilling out. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. All staff were friendly and keen to help. The natural swimming pools were very unique and a great way to spend a few hours chilling out between hikes or kayaking nearby. Only negative is be prepared for a terrible road for the last 7km of driving to get there!

Hermoso hotel ecológico integrado en la naturaleza. Con hermosa vista inigualable. El diseño y respeto con el medioambiente, destacan por encima de todo. Es un lugar de ensueños. Un paraíso en la tierra. Tienen servicio de buffet y a la carta. Comida exquisita y algo que destaca de este hermoso ecolodge es que puedes utilizar las amenidades del ecolodge que se ubica más abajo. No puede dejar de mencionar las habitaciones. Son pet friendly y cada una tiene un nombre. La mia se llamaba “ El nido del Carpintero”. Sin duda alguna es un paraíso en la tierra. Volveremos!
