Blvd Hotel and Studios Universal-Hollywood, Ascend Hotel Collection

Ok so there are a few upsides and downsides to this hotel. Firstly the positive, it was 5 mins walk to Universal Studios, the metro, 20 mins walk to Millennium Dance Complex, large rooms (Queen double suite), and there is an awesome Taco restaurant next door and lots of other food options and pubs close by! Downsides, the homeless outside, they were just everywhere but did not harass us at all, the room floor needed a good mop as it was gross, $18 per night expected on check in for gratuities...however, no housekeeping as they were short of staff so what did I pay the $18 per night for???) The pool is in the carpark, staff were often seen arguing with people at the front desk, no food options at the hotel. Room had a fridge, microwave and coffee machine however no boiling water for tea. Upon asking they gave me a cup for free (maybe part of the exorbidant gratuity fees???). Overall it was fine for our needs but would not rush back. Good location if staying one to two nights for Universal.

Whenever I’m back in LA I always stay at the Garland… It’s central, it’s beautifully run and for Los Angeles, the prices are actually reasonable! Despite that I’m not an enormous fan of 70s retro, I actually kinda love what they’ve done with the place!🧡 The rooms are delightful, comfortable, the beds are perfect… Not too soft just firm enough.. Love the Lather brand products they feature in the bathroom… Everything feels luxurious without one’s having spent a kings ransom. Many many many years ago I recall it was the Howard Johnsons… After all those years and several incarnations, it’s evolved once again, it’s immensely popular and like I said, very very well run.. The staff at the reception desk are always helpful, welcoming and courteous, and the Front Yard restaurant is excellent!!

The place was clean, comfortable, quiet, provided breakfast, extra towels, and Said made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Said was able to let us know about places to eat nearby. I would start there again when I go to Universal Studios.
The Tangerine - a Burbank Hotel

Take the child no problem! Parking is free, the back side of the hotel can be parked, and there are up to 5 cars in the yard. Very comfortable, there is free breakfast, it is bread coffee! This is the case in the United States. Going to Universal Studios is not close! Bus at the door 25 meters, about 3.4 stops, 1 dollar per person, very cheap. I am going by car, come back, go back far, probably we push the child to navigate back 50 minutes, but the scenery is very good !
