I traveled to Montreal with a Diamond Tours group and stayed at the Holiday Inn July 22-26. Upon arrival, the parking lot was dark, and the hotel looked deserted. The Holiday Inn signage was dark. The hotel lobby is bright and modern. However, do not be deceived by the nice lobby because the rooms are not all that nice. For example, the first room I was assigned was dark and the floor was dirty. A strong musty mildew odor hit me when I opened the door. The floor had not been vacuumed, so debris was on the floor. I asked for a new room. I was given keys for two rooms that turned out to be worse off than the room I had. I kept the room, and the cleaning staff vacuumed the next day, but that didn't eliminate the strong odor. I suffer with severe sinusitis, so I had a headache and could hardly breath after two days. The third day, I requested another room. The new room also had a slight odor, from the dirty carpet and possibly the old loud air-conditioning unit. I would never stay at this hotel again.
