The Granby Inn

We had a 2 night stay at the weekend. All the staff were very helpful and Christines dietary needs would have been met if we had let them know in advance. (Gluten dairy and Caffeine free) There was Caffeine free tea already available. we were told that if we had let them know they would have have got the required things for us. They did go out and specially purchase dairy free spread for the final day. The room was comfortable and, although I was a little apprehensive being on the front of the building, there seemed to be no traffic noise. The only real problem we had was the bottom step of the stairs was narrow and it would have been nice if it stood out in some way. Also Christine had difficulty with the stairs and a second hand rail would have been nice. May be the car park could have done with a few pot holes filling. All in all though I am glad we stayed here.

The Granby is slightly dated as far as decor is concerned but makes up for this in many other ways. There is a fairly limited menu but the food.produced is excellent. We both had roast partridge and this was cooked to order and delicious. We saw the meals ordered by others and these looked equally well presented. Our cheese cake was wonderful and so obviously homemade! Great prices too. Well worth a visit. And to note the do various themes and offers throughout the week.

Had one night at the Granby Inn but it won’t be our last. Very friendly hosts. Lovely spacious bedroom, very comfortable bed. The meal in the restaurant was excellent, excellent service. Breakfast was just as good. Very friendly pub and will visit again.

Absolutely fabulous stay! The staff are welcoming and hospitable. Michael and Megan are great hosts and can be very proud of their team. Emma and Will are fabulous! Nothing too much trouble, advice on area and local knowledge a bonus! The chefs, Paul, Scott and Steve (+Michael!) serve great food! Our en-suite room was clean, quiet and serviced daily. Breakfast is cooked to order and delicious. If you come back from a days adventuring .. bring an appetite! The evening meals are fabulous! Overall a great stay! Thank you to the team at The Granby Inn!

Food excellent and friendly, room clean and functionable

Stayed at the Granby Inn for 1night for a business trip whilst working on a remote project. Location - Very convenient position for visiting Cragside, Hadrians Wall etc and easy to access from Morpeth and surrounding villages. Comfort - Bedrooms are basic but clean, hot shower, WIFI and plenty of sockets. Would have preferred a small table rather than a recess in the storage to work at but realise this isnt required for everyone. It is above a pub however isnt particularly noisy. The floorboards are very creaky so you do hear other residents outside your room walking up the stairs and past your room. Food - Dinner was very good and breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. I had eggs, mushrooms and beans with toast and a yoghurt to follow. Welcome - Staff are polite, courteous and friendly. Overall - If you're looking for a place to stay that's clean, friendly and inexpensive this could be ideal. If you want luxury then this isnt for you. I thought it was great for my needs.
